enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
We are at Windsor Castle tonight, next to the coach park, thought we would try it as a recce for taking the grandchildren to lego land. - got here about 3pm and the car park attendant told us just to pay £6.80 and we would be fine for the night, so long as we are leaving around 9am, if not, then just to pay extra in the morning.

Just us here on our own, but weve got a big dog LOL

We can hear Aircraft going over, i assume from/to Heathrow but its not too noisy. We are about 50 yards from the River Thames, with river cruise tours about 500 yards away, cant see the river from here, shame as that would have been nice. Theres a little park with kids funfair stuff right next to us, looks like it could be a great spot for the day, when its open.

Though we can also hear trains running but were told they stop running later, will report back on night time noise levels!

Yes, I know exactly where you are, as you have discovered, Windsor Castle is directly under The Heathrow Flightpath, I always wondered how The Queen could put up with the noise, especially as she seems to spend so much of her time there, when not up at Balmoral.
We only live up the road really so have not needed to use it, but I am so happy to see councils make provisions for MH's to park up, especially at places so famous in terms of tourism.
Enjoy feeding the ducks, remember no bread, we are told just porridge oats or similar these days, never realised they were Gluten Free.;)
Have fun.

And you never know, Her Maj. might pop over to ask for a look round inside.

Went to Balmoral in the motorhome in 2014, but not sure I realised you could park overnight there! Unless, it's been introduced more recently?

Either way, very handy! (y)

They don’t fly over the castle when the queen is in residence

might have an issue with damp though (assuming the guy in uniform is Royal Navy of course)?

Any idea of the cost after 9am at Windsor?

Its the top photo you need, the other is the coach car park. I will add a few photos of the park up etc when I get chance later, along with a 'report' on the stopover !

Overnight Report !!!

Would we stay overnight again? not on our own, it felt exposed and isolated. The trains stopped running between 11 and midnight and the planes around the same time. They all started again around 6 - 6.30 am ish. The TV covered most of the noise before we switched it off but obv not in the morning.

If you can deal with the noise and seclusion, then it's a very convenient and FREE stopover 9pm - 9am or if you were out having meal or drink at a local pub or restaurant until late, and were happy to be up and away early next morning, then it would be a great place to try, especially with another motorhomer.

We heard a couple of boy racers playing loud music very early in the evening and we're a bit conscious they might be there all night, but they left after about ten minutes, the latest one being around 8.30pm, so no great concerns there.

We spotted a tap for fresh water on the side of the attendants brick hut, so that might be helpful if needed.

To enter the correct parking area, go under this bridge and go straight on

Then don't turn immediately left, carry straight on towards the attendants hut (you can see signs for coach parking). Then turn immediately left AFTER the attendants hut.

Yes it does look a tad lonely but a good overnight spot nonetheless. (y)
May be in better weather it will be busier.

Well recommended on SFS and about 6 vans parked up on their photos.
