Yes! They are north African I'm sure and they are heading home! Seems that the summer break brings the chance to go home for a while and bring more or less half the house with you - except none of this is coming back!

We've got clothes, shoes, bedding, mattresses, things like toiletries - even quite basic stuff - kitchen and workshop equipment - all that sort of thing that might be very expensive or unavailable there - plus a lot of stuff that is available there but is cheaper to bring because they bought it in Europe and will take it Africa. You have to remember that outside of europe (small e!!) supplies can be different and of different standards/prices!

In fairness a lot of work goes into ensuring that the loads are packed well and don't become unstable. The cops wouldn't let them continue if that were the case.

I have felt a bit sorry about it when I saw a large family group stuck on the motorway at Malaga and the heavily loaded family car had broken down steam and noise, having come from northern France. No one was having a good time that day...
