Hi Everyone
Can I shorten the one of my LNB cables that’s monster long and put a Y branch in it half way along its length. My plan is to be able to connect my TV in one of two locations. Is it OK to do that. Cheers.

Yeah that should be fine use one of these to split the feed.

Excellent, cheers for that. So I can shorten the cable at the same time, because it’s monster long and all coiled up at the back of the cupboard. Just cut the cable, fit the plugs supplied and connect to the splitter. Am I getting it right.

Yeah I have a twin LNB Oyster when I fitted it to the new van I shortened the cables, they are just normal coaxial cable same as the dish on the side of your house.

Paul you can only split the coaxial after the control box (sat out), you can make the cable shorter to the box (sat input) from the LNB but not split before.

Got it. No splitter before the feature box. I have a twin LNB dish, and going to cut the second cable that doesn’t got to the feature box. It goes straight to a receiver. i assume it’s OK to split that one.

I would think that will be fine so its the 2nd output cable from the LNB that goes straight to the 2nd receiver, to try it out disconnect this cable put your splitter on and try the two outputs this way you can easily put back to normal without any problem if for any reason it doesnt work

That’s a good idea. If it doesn’t work, then do do it, if it does then I can go for it.
Thanks a million. Got the plan fixed in my brain now.

Cheers .

Satellite leads carry a voltage to power the LNB so not sure you can split between the dish and the receiver.

Does the splitter interrupt the voltage.

Dont know if twin LNB are different the first cable normal supplies the voltage etc from the control box I am assuming the tv has built in recievers
