Converted caravanner!
This has been an absolute godsend on our trip around France. Can now see km/h clearly and even in sunshine.
Uses free phone apps and cheap clamp off eBay.

More than toes wet now!
I tend to use the speed display on our Garmin 780 sat nav but this display is much smaller than the option you've got! (y)

Mine's a TomTom, but I always use its speedo, the only issue is that on my new one it is too small to see easily in strong sunshine likewise.

Another vote for Waze and Apple CarPlay though not so important for us now because the Series 9 Ducato has a readable speedometer plus a clear digital speed display.

A Woosh bang
I have mine on kph but it is still extremely difficult to see in sunshine & with sunglasses on is the same as anything ,useless, cannot be seen.
must be the Spanish sun.. or the brightness in your cabin.. mine is ok .. light blue on a dark background.. it's also the 3 inch screen model ..

but yes, you can't see it with glasses on.. I thought that was because mine are polarised

It’s called Speedmeter, though the speed limit function isn’t as accurate as our vans Satnav. There are lots to choose from, but I liked the clean large display which is in my line of vision.

We find that sat nav (tom tom) or Google maps will give good readings for the speed you are actually doing but they are not very accurate in terms of the speed limit. In some places in France Tom tom said 90 Google said 80 signs said 70. This happened all across France.

Word of warning on the OBD speedo option. I put it in my old van and it was causing errors on the canbus. I was getting hill descent system errors and all sorts coming up. Had it into the dealer and they just disconnected it. Errors disappeared.

There is a GPS option on those HUD gadgets. I'd recommend using that instead of the OBD connector.

Glad you said that, and agree..
I have always been very wary and dubious about plugging anything into these ports apart of coarse what they are designed for and that is for diagnostic reasons..
