I hope it’s just cosmetic. 😞

Just need to buy a replacement panel .. you could fit it your self, but if not then almost any body shop will be able to help :)

Todds in Preston seem to be quite efficient.

Thanks all for your replies. Due to physical disabilities I am not able to fit a replacement panel. I did pick up the old panel which was hanging on 2 wires, which I had to cut off quickly with snips so as to retrieve it. There seems to be slight damage to the very bottom right hand corner, which should be repairable. I have not inspected the disconnected panel thoroughly, to see if it can be refitted, although I did see small fragments of it lying on the Road. Due to the location of the accident on the main High Street in Kirby Stephen, I had to move the M/H to allow traffic to continue flowing, so couldn't pick up all the small bits. My wife took the picture of the rear corner in a hurry.

I did manage to drive the M/H back home onto my drive, but feel reluctant to drive it anywhere else, as there is no left indicator, or brake light. I certainly don't want to be pulled up by the old Bill, on my way to Todds or wherever, on the M6

Had something similar earlier in the year. Don't know where you are but i used A&E Leisure of Northwich. I was very pleased with their work.

It looks repairable, lost mine on a German campsite a few years back, the whole job, not just a corner....Gaffa tape comes in handy, as does a brother in law who is a mechanic/body repairer....quite a common problem, motorhomes and immovable objects.xroll:

Do you, or friends, have a rear trailer board you could hang on the back? (If you have a towbar connection, cannot see in picture?)

Evening all,
Had a slight mishap going through Kierby Stephen yesterday.

Got to ask.................... How did that happen..????

Hope you get it sorted..... and NOT to expensive.. :xThumb:

Would guess at clipped a bit of road furniture as South \ Market \ North Road through Kirby Stephen is quite narrow with vehicles parked either side in some places! It's a pull-in stop \ start journey to give way to oncoming traffic. Travel it a couple of times a year in the motorhome and the single track road (B6259) through the farm yards at Outhgill, etc before it on our journey is better than the main road through KS!

Yes that is correct. Tried pulling over to let an oncoming bus pass and managed to clip a parked car. I have driven through Kirby Stephen hundreds of times over a 25 year period, both in Works Transit Vans and my 2 Motothomes. Only had this Motorhome since October this year. Always dreaded this Route, but it was always the fastest route to get to the North East for work. Will definately avoid it in future, and drive up to Junction 40 at Penrith, and then double back down the A66 past Kirby Stephen.

Thanks for all your help and advice. I have 3 addresses for Motorhome Repairs now. My Insurers put me in touch with a Body Repair Shop, who after seeing my Photo said they couldn't do it. So that was another day wasted. Will have to resume my quest for Repairs on the 4th January, as they are all shut now. Having answered a load of Tick Box questions from my Insurer, they said it was repairable, and will have it transported for Repairs. This is the Test, when you find out how good your Insurers really are. I'll keep you informed. Thanks again. BillyS

I sometimes wonder if it's worth the hassle going through ones insurance up to a certain value.
The repairs on mine was £850. Couldn't be arsed with the insurance so paid from my pocket.

Try one call in Preston will do a very good job they did mine after the gutter jumped forward

Yes the road going out of town toward ravonstonedale/Tebay is narrow because of the cars parked up outside the houses, we often have to pull in there and take it steady

They did ours after a lady in a 5 day old automatic BMW drove into the back of ours when we were parked up at Boundary Mill. Did an excellent job 👍

I think it would cost more in increased premiums unless well over a thousand. Even if you have protected no claims you still have an increased base cost then have to declare it on car insurance too.

A claim costs more than just the repairs.

He hit a parked vehicle so the incident has to go through the insurance regardless.....3rd party damage

Crossleys Coachcraft at Preston, also Todd’s as recommended by someone else. I had a Pilote long before our current supply problems, and even then panels and stuff were expensive and took a while to arrive.

I’m missing posts #2 and 3 and 9 and 10 and 17 and 18 someone doesn’t like me .
