Can't help with a site Paul but good luck with the marathon, not long until London now.

Just looked for it, to see if I new anywhere nearby, and discovered there are two Osmotherlys. Lakes or Northallerton? And good luck with the run.

Northallerton

Not been to Osmotherley since the late 1970's doing Lyke Wake Walks. The websites supporting people doing the Lyke Wake may have lists of suitable places. Best of luck with the run Paul.

That's what I associate Osmotherly with as well - May 28th 1978 was when I did it, a school sponsored walk to raise funds for a new sixth form common room

There is a camping and caravan CS at Great Busby with electric, dump and water not far from Osmotherly. We have used it a few times!

Been to Cote Ghyll great walking area but site is a bit "average" to say the least

Thanks all. Cote ghyll is closed...

My nephew Alex has a pub at Sandhutton, just south of N'allerton - you will be made most welcome at the King's Arms. He is listed with Britstops - the food is excellent, but you need to phone as he can only take one van in his small car park! He may even be running, he's started doing that for some reason!
(They are dog lovers too...)

Hi there is a pub called The Haynes Arms on the Dual Carrigeway between Osmotherley turn off and Northallerton Turn off not far away, we once stayed over at The Bluebell (think thats right) its in Ingleby Arncliffe just a few miles up the road- its on the coast to coast walk so have camping and bunk rooms as well.
There is also a couple of CLs in the CC book under Northallerton that are just off the main road send us a PM if you need the details.
There is parking up past Osmotherley camp site at Cod Beck you might get away with just overnighting.

Hope this helps
enjoy your run
