I’ve been and seen it today crawled all over the nooks and crannies, couldn’t see or smell any signs of damp.
dealer has said it will have new habitation and engine service plus New mot and Any issues sorted from those plus new cambelt and 1 years warranty

I really don’t like the upholstery 😳 but comprises are always needed.
And it doesn’t have a reversing camera which we could retro fit I guess.
any opinions of the make/ model or other points to consider?
They want £1000 deposit and As mentioned by some others they want bank transfer 3 days before pick up. I guess we could go and check it over that all Work is done do the transfer than pick up three days later when transfer is through.
Thoughts? Tips? Questions I should ask ?
thank you 😊

Has it got the heating system that uses diesel rather than gas? We had a look at a Chausson about 3 years ago and wondered why there was only room for one 6kg gas cylinder in the gas locker. Salesman replied that as the heating was diesel based, the van "didn't need much gas" .

MOT history seems to show a recurring problem with the rear lights?

We were asked to pay the balance three days before collection, but contacted Natwest who advised to pay by debit card when we were happy with the snagging list and then drive away that day.

Good Luck.

Barry

Price seems a bit high to me as I think it's a 2006 model (or earlier). Fitting a camera and covering the seating isn't a problem though.

NEVER pay in full in advance, just the £1000 holding deposit.

It’s a 2007 and sadly prices are high at the moment That’s the market. Yeah the payment in advance thing I’m not too happy with, just read the other thread about that issue, deposit I’d pay via debit or credit card.

It may be registered in 2007 but the model year looks to be older going by the trim, table style etc.

I think Dolphin Motorhomes have a good reputation, I’ve visited and would buy from them.
If you’re happy to pay today’s market price and are aware that you might be on the wrong end of depreciation, go you!
I quite like the ‘welcome’ range and the upholstery, very French...

Minxy Girl if it’s the 2.3jtd 130 should be new shape??

Forgot to ask before, do you know the axle weights (ie as it is now) so you can check what the overall weight is and also what is available on each axle?

Yes that came out in 2006 though.

Can't believe the price then again the flash 3 we traded in 6 years ago and thought we got a good price for I keep seeing similar ones now for more money. Its bonkers.

Always pay a deposit by credit card if under 30k.
That way you get the protection of S75 of the consumer credit act.
They will not like it, but around the corner is another motorhome waiting for you. Do not be bullied, get an inspection done. Do not take there word. I know this sounds harsh, however no good being wise after the event. Contact if possible the previous owner and ask about service history etc. What issues they had. Check MOT history, things like fail headlights too high, take with a pinch of salt, other items need investigation if advisory. Have they been addressed?
What age are the tyres?
The list goes on, really suggest professional inspection with liability insurance to back the report.

This is a 2006 Allegro 83, same upholstery as the OP's one so without checking the MH's build date and/or comparing the interior to one made in 2007 it's difficult to be sure.

No I don’t, did discuss weight and payload, The dealer was happy to get it weighed for me though.

I have purchased a motorhome on two occasions from Dolphin Motorhomes and have been happy with the way they dealt with me , perhaps you could get them to fit a camera as part of the deal ?

Thanks folks for the advice, much appreciated.
We’ve chatted and done some research and you know what, prices at the moment are ridiculous so we are going to just wait it out and see where the market goes, we can wait a while.
