So i had 5 litres of derv that I wanted to put in my Fiat, the funnel wasn't really up to the job but I found 6 inches of flexi hose for putting oil in the lawn mower and thought that would extend it and save me spilling more than I put in.
Any way I lost the hose in the tank !!! Should I be worried?
Thanks in advance

not long enough
I cant see it can do any harm, but I thank you on 2 counts, for doing something as daft as I do, and then being prepared to declare your error on here as I would do :)(y)

if you are worried you might get lucky and have a joining piece of pipe from filler to tank that could be removed, but I think leave well alone it could well get far worse

More than toes wet now!
Blo**y hell!
Think of the reduction in range your gonna have what with the valuable fuel space the pipe is taking up.
By my calculation you're gonna have to have an additional fuel stop every 3,763,498 miles.:giggle:

It might be lodged in the filling pipe and restrict future filling making it slower - maybe.
You could borrow/hire an endoscope with torch and camera, and then use one of those flexible spring grabbers if you can see the end, but overall it`s probably not worth the effort if it seems to fill ok

Just a thought, but could it disintegrate over time and, could the particles possibly block up the fuel lines on the way to the filter.

As I said, just a thought.

Might affect the fuel gauge reading if it gets trapped underneath the float
