This parked up next to us at Fishery Creek in Hayling Island, built for off road over 10t and 19mpg 😳 IMG_1520.jpeg

By the way nice site , view from inside van IMG_1521.jpeg

The guy did say he has changed gearbox to a 5 speed unit, I thought it would have had a load more gears than that

19mpg in his dreams , my 6x6 is 7.5 ton plated 5speed o/d allison auto and gets 15 mpg on a good day more likely figure is 9 to12 :)
That’s what get from my 911 if I start using the load pedal in anger 😂

Friend of mine has one with a BorgWarner auto box..Ex Fire Brigade.hose carrier from The New Forest. BUSBY.

There were two Swiss ones at the Cordoba aire last month. Saw another Swiss one at Tournus last year. Seems the Swiss don't have decent roads. Good choice for Hayling Island though. It's only 1 metre above MHWS sea level.

Ex army DAF. Probably couldn’t go off road, not with that on the back. Army only brought them to bail out DAF and a rubbish substitute to the legend known as the Bedford truck. Go blooming anywhere in low ratio and 4 wheel drive. DAF was utter rubbish, but great to convert for road use and mild wet grass.

Well Hayling Island is quite 3rd World.
Also probably as far off road as it will be used.
There is no where in UK that It can be used to it's full potential unless they let it onto a MOD range.
Maybe H.I. is the best place for it after reading other posts aswell.

19mpg is very unlikely and I suspect it would be pretty unpleasant to drive on the road. However I dont understand the fixation with MPG and Motorhomes, given that whatever you buy requires some fuel, a few miles difference over the annual mileage for most motorhomes is rarely going to be the biggest expense.

Where on earth does he think he will go with that? Similar to some of the Land Rover owners around here, with snorkels, ladders, roof racks with tyres and fuel cans on top, winches back and front. And off to work they go......

Are you familiar with the DAF 328 series ? Best off road army vehicle ever, 1952 ish with petrol engine, awesome suspension, not to be confused with the 314 which was far less capable👍

Unfortunately Havant Council do not like you or anyone with a motorhome 🤬🤬first they ban overnight on the beachfront and now it’s £15 as soon as you turn up rather than pay hourly as before🤬🤬
When I tackled a traffic hitler about the £15 she said it was because motorhomes do more damage to the car parks😂😂 only been coming to Hayling since I was old enough to ride a bike I said and never seen any work on the car parks🤬🤬

So, just as we are leaving Area Camper Porta Palio, Verona at lunchtime this pulls in, absolute superb monster, looks straight from the Paris-Dakar rally stages!
