Not Long Enough...!!
Doing my head in trying to find a web page which will actually give us the history of our numberplates, ie year first registered , location and if possible what vehicles they were on. Last bit not that important.

As far as we remember, one is a Leeds number, and other is a Essex number which we got from a Ambulance Museam who were selling off the numbers to help them.

Both are Dateless, ie no prefix.

So is there web page which can give us this info, and Not link to a want to buy a plate page..!

Throw the letters of the Leeds one at me and say whether its numbers first or letters.

You never know?

Hi a number plate is not age less it's just we perceive then to be and we call them cherished.
Numbers first then letters then letters and numbers and then a letter on the end to give it a difinate year.
Unlike a modern plate you can get it down to a area in a country and witch half of the year.
If you had a a number 999 ABC you would start with the 1 A up to 999 A then widen the net using 1 AB any way you get the picture.
And then C would just be a filler letter to pad it out in a larger city.
So the age in a small town could span a decade or possibly two.
Then it all so depenting on what was been produced when registration started. Steam rollers are a good one in Scotland a lot have SM plates that's why that are har to get hold off.
I will dig around a guy gave me a web site about ren years ago and it explained it all on there that's how I reschered mine.

I know Not Dateless, but better than saying Private Plate. Should of said they have no prefix year on them. Or is that still wrong.

You could try...

or apply to the DVLA on form V888, I think

Thanks
Gives our vehicle details. Not original veh allocated too or history.

It gives my old vehicle despite me having the plate on retention for the past 10 years!

Thought it might be worth a try.

It was not a go 😀
Just glad it was of use?
When my hair had colour I was at an auction.
And a lad I was with seen me looking at a cortina.
Then says I would not buy that it's a Balfour Beaty car.
How the hell do you know that.
He just tapped the side of his nose but he was a trader 😫

So your saying you were young in the Black and White days !. Best of times I reckon.

So do you have a Jenson.

No I was saying I did have black hair 🙂
But not in the black and white era.
Unable to afford a colour TV or license when we were poor.
Yes I do have the car thats depleted my bank account 😫
In the UK it's a first name.
In Scandinavia the J is pronounced as a Y with a sen no son.
As the second name as the brothers of the West Brom factory.
Hand built gentlemans express 😍

I don’t think DVLA will tell you much from a V888 nowadays due to Data Protection
