Van was attacked last night, alarm must have frightened them off.

Didn’t hear it, I’ll be checking my CCTV later.

Any damage is bad but I am glad for you that its not worse and that they did not succeed. They need stringing up

Just lock by the looks of it.

We’ve got an appointment we must attend in a short while, so reported to Police via the internet, I‘ll have to deal with the insurance later.

Locking system still working, alarm checked and reset.

That's a bummer I take it that it was at home.

Looks like complete amateurs or kids, I'm sure everyone on this form knows a much easier way to get into a Fiat cab but I won't mention it for obvious reasons.

If the lock still works I wouldn't have an insurance claim it will cost you dearly on all policies.

So sorry glad they didn't succeed, they do look easy recognisable.

Sorry Lenny, as much as it will be a financial burden, I can’t afford any insurance cock-ups.

I’ll have to take it on the chin. :(

Fairly good image ther transport at the back did any nabors manege to get ther Rege on CCTV?

No, that’s my neighbours work van and is Camper…..he said mine was prettier than his so why would they go for his.🤷‍♂️

I think they went up and down in a small van, but it’s not that clear due to the lighting.

Same as us... people who are unlucky enough (IMO) to live in a metropolis enviroment expect every street corner/ street/car park/play park etc to be covered by "big brother" cctv.
Our village has one cctv in the center of village and the next one I am aware of is 5miles away in the next village.

But the police wont follow up anyway. They might have had a cursory glance at the cctv had it got nicked.
As for insurance i would always do the maths, cost to repair oneself against potential costs of insurance claim. Nearly always DIY comes out least expensive.
Retired Police Officer, I know how it works. (y)

Wished you had been in my manor then when we got robbed big time few years back.
They told us flat out they would not look at neigbours cctv footage or investigate.
And we are talking about a well into 6 figure value robbery.

Sorry I don't understand what's wrong with fixing it yourself.

One of the questions asked by the insurers of my van, car and two motorcycles is….’Have you had any accidents or incidents in the last 5 years, whether you made a claim or not’.

This is a very grey area……and I’m more of a black and white man when it comes to insurance….of any kind. Should they come back and have another go and are successful………

Being refused insurance for not being honest will be far more expensive than telling them. (y)

And I’m still waiting for my crime number……🤷‍♂️

Looks to me as if there’s 4 of them, 2 at each van. So glad the alarm frightened them away, Shane about the damage though.

Got a crime/case number delivered by one of those toy cops (pcso or whatever)
Then took 11 months for insurance to sort it and pay us some of it. We were of course well out of pocket. But hey ho s@@t happens.

If you have a local FB group put that image on there, most likely local they will be that thick, if nothing else they would know you have CCTV and not try again 👍 better someone might just recognise them
Not a Facebook user I’m afraid……in the last few weeks we’ve had the Tarmacer’s, Tree Cutters etc about. 🤷‍♂️

I’ve sent some footage to a few people I know.;)

Depends what you classify as an accident. I knocked the rear corner of my van leaving my drive. Easy, cheap fix - I'm not going to tell anyone about that.

I did have an incident on a motorway where a car sideswiped me. More damage to him than mine. He didn't want to claim. Later he must of changed his mind. My insurance company said his insurance has contacted them and asked if I wanted to claim, I said no as there was no real damage - a few marks which polished off. They accepted that and insured me again this year with no mention of it.

Never been asked that question, only "have you had any claims in the last 5 years".
I would fix it myself & change insurers.
It's getting quite common now on insurance policies, I've did our rental bungalow insurance and am now doing our home and insurance a most ask about 'unclaimed' incidents.

Just got off the phone to my insurers….policy with AiB.….but underwriters are Highways, The Broker is LV=.

I double checked….if you have an ‘Incident’ it should be reported, even if you do not intend to claim. At renewal, if the claim is less than my excess, or, I decide to pay for the repairs myself, the claim is logged as an incident and won’t (I have my doubts 🤔) affect your premiums or No Claims Bonus.

However, if I hadn’t have reported it, the van got stolen and they found out about the ‘Incident’ it may have repercussions on my policy cover.🤷‍♂️

I can afford a couple of hundred pounds if necessary, but I don’t have another £50k to spend.(y)
