Spending next few weeks wandering the Norfolk coast I am a keen birder so looking for recommendations for sites within walking distance of good birding locations. We stayed at High Sand Creek near Stiffkey years ago so looking forward to visiting again. Any other suggestions within a 20 minute or so walk SWIMBO struggles with anything further and Is the Haven site at Caister worth a stay some good deals at present. Many thanks👍

There is a small site at Holme Next the sea, think it is called The Poplars. Depends what you require from the site. I think it has EHU and something that passes as a shower/toilet block. Burham Deepdale has Deepdale camping. the clubs ave sites at West Runton and Sandringham.

Have a look at campsites.co.uk. They will show what is on offer.

There is a CL site in Weybourne.

I'm hoping to try Deepdale Camping next time I'm in the area. There is also Pinewoods at Wells, well placed for migrating bird arrivals.

There is a CL site CAMC at. Weybourne, called Foxhills. It’s at the Entrance to Muckleburgh military museum, 3 miles from Clay Marshes, great walks direct from site.

Can't help directly although it's an area we want to explore at some point. My only suggestion would be to plot the RSPB and other reserves in the area and look for places near to where they are to base yourselves.

Off to Norfolk next Wednesday, four nights at Parkdeans site in Hunstanton, paying £42 for 4 nights

We are booked onto Deepdale Backpackers site for a week and really looking forward to it , close to all the creeks and countryside so should be handy twitching country.

map seems to have forgotten Clay Marshes, and most of the Norfolk wildlife trust sites, their sites are quieter for visitors but better for birding. Take a look at their website

I am happy to pay £3.50 per month for both to visit these sites. I have had fantastic sightings of various Owls, raptors and Lbjs plus the waders 😜

Booked into Deepdale Touring and Backpackers next week looking forward to it superb location. Was hoping to get onto High Sands Creek at Stiffkey but they close for the winter this weekend. 7 nights at the Haven site at Caistor for £103 with ehu etc later this month is a good deal

Another vote for Parkdean, right on The Wash, good for sea birds, also cheap as chips at the moment, we are going next week for a short break £8 a night with electric,
Town not far, Bus stop Pub and supermarket all near the site entrance

Sometimes it’s from a Sunday and for X amount of nights.

Parkdean Hunstanton.
Just checked now £11 a night, only booked a couple of days ago @£8 a night 2 people
Still a bargain at £11

Have to say one of the best sites we have stayed on. Great location we stayed on one of the large pitches at the top end of the park.

Have stayed on Manor park before , cheap and convenient , seafront walk into Hunstanton.

We stayed at a nice little CL at the beginning of September. It's a CMC CL just behind Blakeney with distant views of the sea. Site is called Villeroche, grass with EHU.
Less than 10 minutes walk into the village, very friendly owner.

Glad that the CL in Wells next the sea was full, not near the village and next to recycling, no views either.

Checked Parkdean Manor Park Hunstanton today, mid October (19th for 4 nights) £15 per night, I booked at £20 per night earlier in the year .............. Ah well at least I have a booking.

If you’re there on a Sunday, walk up to old Hunstanton on Sunday morning and the life boat is out practising, throwing people out and rescuing them.

Hi Ivory, not there on a Sunday, but once did an exercise with the french carrier Clemenceau off Portugal, they threw a live guy out as a "man overboard" exercise and he was never seen again........... hope it doesn't happen with them

Blimey, no it’s never far out. It can all be watched from the cliffs

Hesitating in booking Manor Park in case things go even more pear shaped with lockdowns we wouldn’t be going till the 19th so hanging fire for a few days. 🤔🤔🤔

You have Birds Seals etc here nice an quite.
