Can someone advice which NFU office is best to call for a quote on our Moho.

Never used any but the local one in uttoxeter, don't ring them though apart from minor details, always go in and talk to them, got everything with them so they have all my details so changing a motor or something is more or less ready done.

I insured my motorhome with NFU and they were very happy to take my business without any previous policies with them. I have subsequently added a car. The Lymington/Brockenhurst branch even said they were having a push to get more motorhome business. Their agencies are franchised and sometimes seem to have different priorities.

My current insurer has sent me what looks like a reasonable quote. But as always there’s a nagging in the head about a better quote ??

Twice I’ve tried comfort and both times quotes have been sky ward ?

Knutsford NFU wouldn't insure ours. Said they don't really do MHs and should try a specialist.

Maybe their way of saying go away due to our postcode, some insurers won't even renew cars.

It on my traders policy for now but should look into getting something proper soon.

Depends on the value of the van if more than £120k they tend to be a lot cheaper than anyone else.

They may be agents of the same insurance company but they are independent franchised businesses. The agent I use is Dovey, Blomfield & Crouch trading as a NFU Mutual office based in Brockenhurst. It is up to them how they build their customer base. Some agents are keen to promote motorhome business but it is clear that others are not and discourage it. It does make a difference which agency you approach.

I spoke to Selby branch and they couldn't match my renewal even though it was with NFU direct.

The Agents are encouraged to develop their own business plans and strategies. I have no doubt that all agents can offer motorhome insurance but it does not mean that all agents see this as a key part of their business plan and want your business. It makes sense to go to one that is enthusiastic about your enquiry and not one who is throwing up obstructions such as having an existing policy with them.
