When showering can van boilers keep the water hot whilst showering (I understand the Navy shower technique and that most boilers hold circa a 10l reservoir)? Also, any experience/recommendations for water saving shower heads?

Thanks everyone!

Or, try a trigger spray head.
Very useful when setting temperature with two separate taps and you don’t have to keep turning on and off and adjusting, thus wasting water continually resetting.
This is of course if you are using the sailor method.
I suppose though it depends on what sort of luxurious shower room you have in the MoHo.
We prefer a bath! 😂😂😂😂

For your shower head search the web for Ecocamel. You want their model made for electric showers. It utilises the venturi effect which makes it feel powerful whilst still using less water.

If you have a single lever mixer tap you do not need a trigger head. The temperature setting will stay the same when you switch off the flow.

The c.10l capacity of your boiler will be enough for at least a couple of showers.
At 60 to 70 degrees boiler temp, the mixer will draw unheated waterfrom your main tank

It depends on you boiler, our first mh was a nightmare as small boiler, ended up using a bucket & sponge as either too hot or cold, deffanetelly recomend an Ecocamel head but it can be tricky to get constant temp, most of the time we used site showers

Our boiler is just enough for two nice showers.

Wet, scrub, rinse. We have an ecocamel shower head and a tap in the shower that keeps its temperature place, so easily turned off/on and not have to reset.

Just have the choice now of first shower, being considerate to the other half following, but knowing you will have hot shower. Or 2nd shower no rush or concern about anyone else, but it may run out, and this is often the longer of the two showers. It doesn’t suddenly runout, it’s progressive. The above isn’t a issue if longer between showers.

Depends how you shower, for us we would have to wait for it to heat up again. Never get 2 showers on the bounce.

Another fan of wet, scrub, rinse. We have the Whale boiler which holds 8 litres, the Truma Combi's hold 10. On the panel we select both gas & electric which heats the water rapidly without burdening either energy source.

We also find that we don't need a lot of hot water through the mixer to have a decent shower. We usually leave around a 10 minute interval between use. We had Ecocamel but found it disappointing for the cost, we now use these both in the motorhome and in the house and they do make a noticeable difference.

Our shower mixer tap works well, turn on water get temp you want, get wet all over, turn off water, shampoo hair, shower gel and scrub body, rinse off. Water may have chilled off a bit but does it matter, soon comes thru warm again! Hardly any water hot or otherwise used!
