Hi - I noticed that all 6 tyres are old (+8yrs) on my 2008 TAG and they are currently Michelin Agelis Camping (CP) tyres.

as it’s a big old TAG van, I’d prefer to get a mobile fitting service to do the tyres on my drive. Kiwi Fit currently have 15% discount on 4 or more Michelin tyres, but do not stock the Camping (CP) tyres and also are quite competitive on a set of Yokohama tyres, but these are all normal van tyres. My current Michelin Camping tyres have a 113 load rating and I see the normal van tyres are 113 or I could go to 114/116.

so my question is, do I have to stick with the camping specific tyres or can I go to the other normal van tyres with the same (or higher) load rating. Does this affect my insurance etc.

as always, many thanks for words of wisdom! 😜

No you can fit the van tyres and move up to the 116. That’s what I’ve just done, had Hankook Vantra fitted

Michelin do say that their camping tyres are ok up to 10 years with inspection, so you could just replace 2 at a time if needed to spread the cost.

That’s interesting, they do have some very minor cracking though on the side wall.

So looking at the Hankook Vantra’s which come in at £658 (for 6 tyres) includping mobile fitting with Kwik Fit.

If I was clever I would not drive a truck, haha. Maths was never my strong point.

I cheated and used a calculator as I'm on a par with you for maths. :giggle:

All ordered and being fitted on Thursday, thanks for the advice. Have a couple of long trips coming up to the West Sussex and Suffolk in the next few weeks from Cornwall, so have the peace of mind that the tyres will be in good shape! 👍

Which tyres did you go for in the end? And how have you found them??
