When Ford were selling them new @ £50k they couldn’t shift them now looking at least £150k if you can find one for sale, saw a 6R4 coming up for auction the other day, estimate £100k +When these got banned from rallying you could buy them surprisingly cheap along with the 6R4
No all moved on along with quite a few othersStop stop sto

No arrests will be madeI could well be arrested by the Fun Police for this next comment but I would rather have a new yellow skip as suggested by @Podney than a Bentley.
I was expecting a Tag Frankia or a 50ft motorcruiser or at the very least a Bobcat with the multiple accessories pack fitted.
The skip wins every time for me - sorry guys

Majestic....
Yeah I've never been one for overly flash cars , I wouldn't have a Bentley a rolls or a Lamborghini Ferrari etc...every time I see one I just think dickhead and I can assure you it isn't jealousy I just think they are way overpriced and bought by show offs because they assume it makes them look good.
And think it must compensate for erectile dysfunction

PMSL and that's a standard response from someone who assumes that because certain people in the world like something everyone else must do the same.Standard reply from someone who is jealous and cannot afford one.
Funny when I see someone driving a nice car or bike I just think that’s nice not really my problem if they can afford it or not
My next door neighbour sold his caravan park last year for 8.5 million and when out and bought a new Rolls Royce convertible and a 3 million pound house
You could not meet a nicer bloke he’s 73 had triple bypass and his wife had cancer so I was pleased to see him enjoy his money and never thought he was a dickhead.
Funny on this forum there are a few people who pipe up when someone has something nice, bit sad really.
I think that everytime I look on eBayIf only I had bought some cars and kept them along with the ones I did own
Early retirement it would have been
a new skip
new block paving

Now looking at the block worknew block paving
OoohI think that everytime I look on eBay
I had a minted 1973 jaguar xj5.3 coupe in brg one previous owner back in 1990 it's worth a fortune now as is the classic mk1 escort Mexico I rebuilt with my dad in 1992 both were sold for less than a grand when I owned them.
My first vw camper a 1967 split screen I bought for £675 in 92 ....took 3 years restoring it from chassis up and kept it till 1998 when my son came along and we changed to a later model.
That camper sold again on eBay about 4 years ago for £29k
Yeah I still love the mk1...i wasn't so keen on the mk2Ouch
Mk 1 mex and mk2 rs 2000 make me have a trouser twitch
I never thought you were saying or implying that I was a dickhead over my op matePMSL and that's a standard response from someone who assumes that because certain people in the world like something everyone else must do the same.
Every vehicle becomes older and trust me I could very easily afford an older rolls Royce or a Bentley and I still wouldn't own one because as I said they just look like someone trying to display a status symbol and I don't feel the need.
I didn't imply the op was a dickhead I just said that like many people it's the first thing that pops in my head when a "poser" passed In one
It's kind of like that stupidity we all had at 17 when we thought cars got girls
It didn't, if you were a nugget you were still a nugget whether you had one or not
I can assure you there's little in this world I ever get jealous of .....im pretty used to getting whatever I set my sights on as anyone who knows me in person could verify
I just have zero desire to ever own a Bentley
I prefer something a little more unique
Most of the toys I'm proud of I built I didn't buy
Oh yeah I had a few nice capris too they handled like crap but I always liked the look, had a few mk3 2.8 ghias but my favourite was the 3litre brooklands ....lovely dark green, full black leather had nice wide arches on it no bumpers and a set of well spaced deepdish rs alloys on it.I never thought you were saying or implying that I was a dickhead over my op mate
Each to there own pal
I'd like to buy a 2.8 special capri or a 2.8 ghia x Granada for a future investment

Pop them on a scanner and it's digital mate.Yeah I still love the mk1...i wasn't so keen on the mk2
I still hanker over the mex though as it waa a lovely car and something my dad and i bonded a lot over when building it
Sadly it was before everything went digital so the few photos I have of it are hard copy pics somewhere in my mum's attic
Pop them on a scanner and it's digital mate.
I bought a 2nd hand 1973 Type 2 Caravanette Westphalia in1982. It had done about 20,000 miles and just left in a back yard belonging to a Director.
Me and my Mrs were going to take my dad on a holiday to the Isle of Wight shortly after my mum died, us in a tent. It had a slight oil leak and the spark plugs were welded in. I had to get the cylinder head helicoiled about 3 days before we were due to go.
Me and my dad took the engine out and spent a couple of days working hard, changing the clutch and gaskets etc till the early hours. We had a great time and really bonded. Special time.
I've just scanned all the photos in the albums from when the kids were growing up and when Carole and I were young. Put them all on 2 memory sticks as backup. Thrown the albums away. A lot of the 70s and 80s colour photos were fading anyway.Yeah but I live in the motorhome fulltime ...i don't have a scanner
Yeah my dad loved working on cars, I went in to an apprenticeship as a mechanic with taggarts at 16 yr old and I used to buy a lot of the old trade ins that came in to the garage as we got them cheap , my dad brother and uncle all used to help to sort them and we sold them on.
But my dad helped me restore a few motors that I kept and used myself and it was the one thing we had in common.
He died at 60 yr old back in 2000 and at the time he was helping me restore a vw type 25 camper van that I ended up keeping 5 years ( the longest I've owned a vehicle) because I couldn't bring myself to sell it.
I've hundreds of pics of me and him with loads of old cars and camper vans we restored together.
I really should look in to getting someone to put them all on to a DVD or something.
Maybe someday

You could do that easily in you van, if you have a lap top. Scanners are quite cheap now and much smaller. Something to do when you're snowed in
