Been using our data for more than two month trips often but not any longer it seems .
Hi from EE. You can use up to 15GB of your data allowance abroad in the EU - click ee.co.uk/fairuse for more info

When you're in the EU you must comply with the EE fair use policy, including a stable link to the UK. So, during any four month period you must spend at least two months in the UK or use your allowances mainly while in the UK. For more info ee.co.uk/fairuse

I use Three Data. Lived here 3 years with no problems :)

This may become the norm with other companies ?
It's new from EE.
Looks like I will need to shop around .

Got this text message from EE, nothing about 15gb limit.

"Hi from EE. Great news, while you're in Austria you can use your plan minutes, texts and data allowances at no extra cost"

Just checked Threes website and it says this

If you’re in a Go Roam in Europe destination, you can use up to 19GB on Pay Monthly plans and 15GB on Pay As You Go if you have a data allowance from an Add-on. In Go Roam Around the World destinations you can use up to 12GB on Pay Monthly or Pay As you Go plans. Any data usage over these limits will be subject to a surcharge.

There is no mention of a fair use policy

Three banned me for abusing roaming about 3 years ago  got a text off them one Christmas saying roaming will be switched off... permanently :ROFLMAO:

... that IS the fair use policy ... ie 15gb or 19gb depending on whether you're on PAYG or contract. What you are referring to is the duration surcharge policy which is here:

To ensure all customers can benefit from Go Roam in Europe with roaming at no extra cost, we reserve the right to apply a surcharge in case of excessive use. In order to help us to detect possible abuse of Go Roam in Europe, we may monitor your usage and presence. We'll look at the balance of your roaming and domestic (UK) activity over 4 months, and if you spend the majority of your time abroad and consume more abroad than at home over the 4 months, we have the right to add a small surcharge to your continued roaming usage.

As other people have said I don't think this is new but they may be enforcing their policies more vigorously.

The limits are reasons I won't take out a 3 or EE contract at the moment.

I've got a rolling 1 month contract with plusnet, uses EE network but cheaper.

£8/month 3gb 1000 minutes. Away for about 9 weeks so I'll see if they cut me off, like Three did

We moved from EE 1 year ago to vodaphone.
Just renewed with vodaphone from 50gb a month to 100gb a month, we never had a issue all last year so very happy.

I have to have unlimited internet access for medical reasons...

If I don't have a fast connection available I develop blotches and a rash breaks out (on my chest) and my whole body starts shaking uncontrollably. :(

Luckily in Portugal I have an unlimited data, monthly, roll over, contract with NOS.

Fast and affordable...

JJ

If out of the UK for a length of time I find the best way is to get a local pay as you go sim

So when in UK leave the telly on to consume far more data than you require then when abroad you consume less.Encourage us to waste at home to be able to use less in Europe.

So true..

My French provider has a fair use policy for use abroad. Basically in any 4 month rolling period I have to have more usage in France than I do abroad, if not I get surcharged.. So now my wife has to watch telly using the phone so that next month when we are in Italy we've built up enough credit to use it without restriction or extra cost.

@The general yes I have.
Maybe as our phones and devises are on a business contract we have always had impeccable service.

I have 2 plans with ee both have 20gb data a month and unlimited calls and texts , I usually max out my data each month and I told them when I took out the plans I'd be travelling in Europe for up to 12 months

If they try that with me I'll be cancelling them on the spot. I've had an email once from them saying about fair useage but I ignored it.

I've been with ee for 4 years ...I had the same plans I do now last year and not a word from them and I max both plans out every month as I download loads of films and series

Does any company do a ‘genuine’ unlimited data plan?

O2 also allow full use of your data whilst roaming in EU

Unlimited data as per unlimited texts for example?
