DVLA and Plod dont work “in theory” unfortunatelyIf it has a numberplate that matches the vehicle in theory it should be registered with the DVLA..
And they allowed you to tax it.
Dealers are issued with registration numbers in advance but that does not mean it is registered. You can not drive it before it is registered and showing on the DVLA database. A few dealers have access to the online registration system but most have to use the paper system. In normal times the paper system takes 2 or 3 weeks but these are not normal times and it is taking longer. If it has a numberplate that matches the vehicle in theory it should be registered with the DVLA..
And they allowed you to tax it.
If you can tax it then you are legal. In my opinionThanks everyone, I had to check as everyone saying we couldn’t drive it and I have places to be
Thanks so excited now, can’t waitIf you can tax it then you are legal. In my opinion
Why isn't it already done if he has sent it off for registration? Now the hard bit, getting the dealer to get the PDi done
It might be. I always look on the grim side as they are sometimes economical with the truth. Why isn't it already done if he has sent it off for registration?
Not now,,,BUSBY.I bet if I was caught speeding abroad DVLA would be very efficient at giving out my bloody details !!
Also they could expedite the HGV licences that are “in the system somewhere “ and help alleviate the dearth of qualified drivers!!
End of rant !!
Mitch.
Well officer our very well thought of dealer let me drive it 60 miles home and still insists that I am legal to drive it."Well Officer, some poster on a Motorhome website said it was OK to drive it."
Actually I wonder whether the Police believe anything on the DVLA computer anymore?
DVLA received and signed for our postal application for a new van to be registered on 7th July. This week the DVLA site shows their processing of new registrations has only moved forward 3 days from 26 June to 29 June. In other words the backlog is growing. Looks like people need to allow at least six weeks before they can drive a new vehicle needing a paper registration application.
