Advice please, New Motorhome sink draining issues. Right to return!

See the thread with this title

Hi has anyone ever rejected a new motorhome within the 30 days?

Have you got a manufacturer in mind. There is a particular 'unhappy motorhome' club on Facebook which had four ongoing legal & rejection cases in July 2019 alone but it only concentrated on one British manufacturer.

You could always join them and seek advice albeit a few of our members have rejected vans and will be able to help for sure..

Thank you so much! I'll join that group.

Hi Olie,

There's always some good advice on forums like this one but if I was you then I would engage with a solicitor asap to make sure things are watertight.

If you're a member of the Caravan & Motorhome Club then I believe they'll do free advice on the phone too.

All the best, and good luck,

Andrew

P.S. Welcome to the forum :)

Have we not done this before? There is another thread about this not so long ago.

So... Whats wrong with it then?

This subject really deserves a forum resource to be written on it.

It would be great if someone who went through the full experience could write about the technical process of how to do it.

Numerous things actually! The first night I went through the floor! ! For one. Quite a few other things too.

That alone would seal the deal for a rejection case for sure.

Unless someone can advise otherwise, I would inform the dealer that you are rejecting it with immediate effect. You'll need to stop using 'the goods' but it sounds as if you've already done that.

Good grief! That's shocking! Is it the Hymer 704 as per your profile?

Yes and I've sent a recorded letter to the dealer rejecting the MH but as yet heard nothing back. It's just so frustrating! It's in our minds alk the time!

Olie, I hate to add to your terrible burden but you only have one free post left on the forum.

All the best,

Andrew

Fingers crossed it's not one of those great Burstners.. (y)

On a serious note, Thankfully that new act does allow some people to get some justice. Prior to that it was pay the cash and stuff you... (almost)

See my posts #18 & #26 on the thread below which may help.

I take it that it was one of the floor hatches. Used to be a problem with them delaminating but not heard about it in the last couple of years.

It must be in writing and within the 30 days stating that the supplier is in breach of contract because the consumer rights act 2015 states quite clearly that "goods should be fit for purpose, as described and free from defects" If your supplier accepts that you have just cause they may decide not to contest it and assist (via the manufacturer) to offer a replacement. If not, if a part exchange was involved , they may agree to put you back to where you were before the new purchase. Alternatively, they may oppose the "rejection" which means the legal route
