Ok my new MH will be coning with a sat system and a dish on the top that finds the signal I know nothing about these and wondered do I need a sky box to make it work or will it just pick up freeview programs like my freeview tv does with the normal aerial

I dont have sky tv and dont want it but will I need to buy a box for it to work

Also will it work in Germany or other Euro countries

It will need a tuner box or a TV with built in sat tuner, our Avtex has it built in.

Should work OK Half way across Germany but might get iffy going to Southern France and further South into Spain, well thats our experience anyway.

The box in the cupboard is the dish controller. It tells the dish what direction to point depending on which satellite you need.
You still need a TV and tuner or a TV with sat tuner.
Your Avtex may or may not work depending on it having a sat tuner inbuilt but obviously it will work as a TV.

Nope, can't tell anything from that angle.
Need a full on front shot to see what it is
An automatic sat dish needs some kind of control box to tell the dish which direction and elevation to turn to for specific satellites.

The vehicle was advertised with sat tv inc 2 tv's so I am presuming it's all there ready to turn on and use as it's factory fit

That looks like a tank to me. It's got a screw top.
Bless....Must be your age or your eyesight chap??

The box on the left with the air vents in...Is a controller. It should pick up free view via your tv . If the AVtex has the sat system controller built in...it will find tv for you wherever you go. Wait til you get the chance to get the details off the controller , and research it to suit. You will get the info off here somewhere but most definitely from Google Lol

Took me a minute to spot the box but figured nobody could mistake a clear plastic container for a white metal box so it had to be there somewhere. :D

Hopefully it will come complete and all you will need to do is turn on the TV, receiver and controller, select a TV channel and sit back.
With the dish having a twin LNB you should be able to watch two different programs on two tv's at the same time.

Nonetheless, get yourself a half decent compass, so that you'll know where Astra 28.2E is, on the occasions when the auto positioning dish doesn't. ;)

We have the Telco factory installed system with the 'pull up TV'.
The satellite receiver is in the small locker beside the passenger seat (we are LHD) with a 'magic eye' so that the remote control works.
It's all automatic, just press the button on the panel over the door and the dish goes up, whizzes round for a few seconds and locks on. Switch on TV and receiver and away you go.
The sound on ours is piped through the stereo system.
As the great Steve Jobs used to say "it all just works".

Richard.

Hi Richard

Thanks for confirming that, regards the sound through the stereo is that standard or have you had to do this yourself if so what did you do
