I have a new set of GC1 alloy wheels from Rogue Alloys. Just had an unsuccessful go at fitting them which is perhaps not too clever when they are closed.

The problem is the centre caps on the new wheels won't fit because the central chrome hub gets in the way. The standard fiat alloys are quite proud in the centre whereas the new ones are more dished (see photos). The result is that the centre caps can't be inserted as they foul the chrome hub.

Has anyone had a similar experience? All suggestions welcome.

Assuming you gave the correct vehicle details when you ordered the wheels, then they are not suitable for the purpose and should be replaced or refunded at your option.

If you supplied them with your van reg, then they have cocked up and need to supply you with the correct fitment for your van.

"Wheels are made to fit lots of vehicles, with your reg, you will be supplied with the correct stud pattern, offset, load rating and also colour"

If you end up stuck with those wheels, then I suggest you doctor the centre embellisher caps.

Only time i had something like that the wheels supplied had the wrong internal hub diameter.
To look at you would think they fit but on closer inspection were not correct and would have been able to wobble after a few miles.

Ok, thanks for the replies. I gave the supplier my registration and all relevant details. Looks like I need to wait and contact them after Xmas when they reopen.

Merry Xmas everyone!

I’m sure they can supply a flat cap that fit the wheel, you can get stickers off eBay if you want to retain Fiat badge

So, it transpires that they are the correct wheels. However, the small hub cap either needs to be removed completely or "dented" slightly to provide room for the centre cap to engage properly. Apprently it is only relevant to steel wheels to keep out the dust and for some reason is not fitted on the front hubs.

Removing the old dust caps won't cause any problem.
Fit the wheel and its own cap and by design no dust and crap can enter.
The only time it will be exposed is when the wheel is removed.
