Just spotted this on Amazon. Not sure how comfy it would be but might be useful for someone :)

Amazon product ASIN B07JQCMC64

Steering wheels on the wrong side, and it’s in French.
I’m just under 6’ and can sleep sideways in our Ducato pvc.
The gear stick could be a challenge!
The door handles in the front might reduce this somewhat though, interesting idea.

Tried this way a bit ago when booked Newark AJ plot and went night before ..van full of m,/c parts.Too cramped !! Ended up with cramp in both legs ended up sleeping on top of the boxes of books/mags in back of the van.Too old for that sh&t .May be OK for a child ?

Turn it over and it'll fit a RHD :) Sorry about it being in French but I live in France and saw it on Amazon.fr :)

This isn’t a new idea. In the sixties my parents hired a Comer pop top. My sisters slept across the front seats on mattress made up from the rear seat bases.

I use the folding top bunk from our deceased caravan on the same way and the kids fight over it. Only issue is where to store it!

Cheers James

Unfortunately not on the U.K. amazon site

We’ve made our own, using ikea bed slats stretched across the seats, spare slats bridging the gap, and an ikea single mattress sculpted to size to fit. I’ve made something to stop the hazards being knocked in the night, and Velcro strap a wooden tray to the steering wheel to stop the horn being knocked. Works really well!

I made these for our people carrier. They also slot under our beds in the children’s room at our villa…….or

Along the front of my sprinter
Where did you buy the middle bits (black and grey) from, please?

My dad did similar in a vw campervan back in 1960.that's where I used to sleep,. (y)
Think it only cost him around 2/6p.

Froli Bettsystem

I bought from www.ebay.de Germany way back in pre Brexit times. You can still buy it, UK supply is poor. Dutch/German supply will attract tax and customs etc.

Thanks. It's on amazon.de and I live in France, so no tax :)
