Hi, has anyone had to claim for medical expenses under this policy? If so what was your experience. We are thinking of moving from Lloyds. Also I see trip extension is available for up to 90 days ..... is this very expensive? Lloyds want another £400. Tia Chris

Never claimed but we have trip extension to 120 days, cost £350 ish with some medical problems, blood pressure, statins.

No interest on balance any more though!

Thanks that’s helpful

You might want to look up my previous posts. As a bank that calls itself a building society it's ok. As a medical insurer that are shysters.

You have over 700 previous posts. Perhaps it would be a good idea to provide a link to the relevant post.

Claimed a couple of years ago,,excellent and settled claim quickly.Used breakdown in uk twice,,again excellent.BUSBY.

Claimed on their travel insurance and they were great, thankfully not had to test the medical element of the cover........

Had a few claims on both travel and breakdown. Spent a week in a private suite with balcony in Levante hospital in Benidorm once and received excellent treatment. Dont forget, the travel insurance is worldwide, not just Europe so imagine what 90 day cover in the States would cost. We fly out to Istanbul on Wednesday for the third time this year, so well in pocket with the travel insurance. Had a few European breakdowns sorted including one in Serbia with no problems. Personally I cannot fault the service I have received, although I do pay extra for 90 day cover and existing medical problems.

Same here but good value..BUSBY.

We have claimed a couple of times on the free travel insurance from HSBC Premier accounts and they have been very good.

Do any of the "rules" change on travel/breakdown when you reach 70 yrs ?

Glad to belong to flexplus, they were there when needed when my wife slipped and hurt her knee in las vegas a couple years back. They took control of the situation ,arranged the hospital visit, offered her extra days and a different flight home if needed. We also pay extra for some existing medical conditions.
