Does anyone know the function of this tool which is in the 2020 Ducato tool kit along with the jack etc.. I can't identify anything it may fit and my assumption is it may be something to do with a spare wheel carrier - if one were fitted. If so, what would you be expected to turn it with.

Any guidance gratefully received.

Sorry folks I've added photos before, but can't obviously see how to do it. Advice please!

Beltie

That is to lower the spare wheel carrier at the rear of the van which you may or may not have (y)

Cheers

Thanks guys, that's what I thought it must be. I've just had self levelling fitted and was taking the jack out when I came across that tool. And yes I have retained the towing eye.

Thanks again.

I had one of those on a car that I don't remember!

I also had a ski rope style tow rope;

When under load the 'twist' in the rope managed to unscrew the Towing Eye, which was quite exciting.

we had one similar to that, out battery was in a box under the van the extension fitted through a hole in the skirt to lower the box.

We had a recall on a 07 ducat where they changed the spare wheel carrier the new one was under the driverside rear wheel arch and came with an extention rod like that

It fits here in the spare wheel carrier.
Ah I can leave mine at home as my spare wheel is in the vans garage!!

And as for images, you can literally just copy and then paste into the message you are typing if easier OP

Apparently, that is why most towing eyes are left-hand thread.

It’s a
“wim van van for a foo foo pump“
That’s what my dad said when I asked him what something was for and he was busy or comedic.
