Cos they take you to the next service area and drop you orft... Then you drive back on the motorway when they have gone and do the same further down... (y)

SORRY Dorset!:crying:
The roadworks are only on the southbound carriageway so he'll be stuck there!:(
Own up, Dorset Funsters, what have you done to deserve the auld yin as a permanent vagrant?

I have a friend who, several year's back, was talking to me about driving over 580 miles from the Isle of Wight to Banchory (near Aberdeen). I asked if he had breakdown cover and he said no so I suggested that it would be sensible. On the appointed time he stopped off at my place for a coffee while waiting for the midnight ferry, left his lights on and flattened his battery - called his new breakdown service who had a vehicle returning on the ferry he was booked on - got started and caught the ferry with minutes to spare.

On the mainland he had not done 10 miles when - bang and lots of steam - head gasket gone. 'Phoned the breakdown people who, within 2 hours, loaded his unit and took him to his intended destination.

He calculated that he managed 600 miles per gallon on that journey.
