After a break from vans we want to buy another one .................... but WHAT to buy??

We had a Globecar Globescout for 3 years and loved it but this time we (mostly me) fancy something different.

The brief then:

Under 6 metres and preferably not too wide
Big garage for 2 big hybrid cycles
Suitable for ALL season use
Oven (really)
4 belted seats
Proper shower cubicle (not plastic curtain)
Under £40000
Not too old

Does such a thing exist??

:):)

If you could put the bikes on a rear bike rack or a tow bar mounted one, you’d have a lot more choice of van.

That's true Robert, it's just a matter of pro's and con's I s'pose.

(P.S. Nice to see you two still munching and drinking your way around Europe :D )

Welcome back - and what you need is one of these:. :)

But if you can go a tad over 6m one of the Hymer "Exit" thingies might do.

as I recall you were a big Brompton bikes fan.. ;)

or are these additional ?

Our Hymer B644 has a big garage, I fitted a double bike rack for our road bikes.. but at just a tad under 7mts doesn't tick the 6mt box..

Had too many bikes stolen from racks, the main reason for buying one with a garage .. plus they got filthy on the back of a van.. ok for cheap or old bikes but not expensive road bikes.

You can get 6m motorhomes with big garage. Transverse bed. And proper shower. But you will loose the narrowness.

We still have the Bromptons and still love 'em, but as you know so much more can be achieved on a bigger bike. We have two Specialised Crosstrails which are set up for touring, they are of course more comfortable and more capable over longer distances/time than the little ones so it would be nice to take them away with us.

Back to this thread, I still am not really any closer to knowing what to buy (and my other thread about a certain 'make' didn't get me anywhere )

As you have had Globecar before have you looked at the
D-LINE GLOBESTAR 600 L Revolution
6 m long and you can have the bikes inside and still use the bed
We have the campscout revolution but thats a bit longer at 6.5 meters
You would need to look in Germany to get in your price range though
