I'm clearly going bats - those who know me will say Thank God she's admitted it at last. But anyway, there was a link on this ruddy forum to a camping shop in Walsall, the ones offering the ruddy deal on the awning, and there it was on their website at a reduced price.

I am utterly certain about this fact because when I actually looked at it, I thought even though it says it's 220 x 225, how big is that in RL?

So I went into our kitchen and measured it out on the floor - said to Pete that it was quite big really and he came in the kitchen, used the other steel tape measure (cos he figures that I am female and ergo can't use a tape measure, he forgets I spent a lot of my yoof having to make all my own clothes and eg curtains etc and they always fitted LOL) and agreed that it was.

Where's that place? he asked. It's 'the alphabet' in Birchills said I - Oh said he - that's not far from Hayes, is it, look?

And I am also nothing whatever to do with any dealer or manufacturer of camping type stuff. I wish I was - could have saved a blooming fortune over the last 50 or so years !

I too read it that @Freespirit1 was associated with the Cathargo dealer and was personally making an offer of a substantial discount to members of the forum. then got cross because the attempt to drum up trade by using the newsletter had failed
Note to self......stop being so cynical. (or maybe not)

forgot to say, on the majority of forums doing that sort of thing is very bad form and usually ends in the offending member getting a ban. On here Jim is very fair and uses his discretion what he moderates

Not wishing to revive the original thread, but I suspect that the 'Special Funster Deal' offered by this Carthago dealer, is not so special. We were offered something similar at the Stafford show this summer, but that offer included awning and solar panel. We were told that the offer was possible because of the strength of the Pound v Euro.
We still chose to go to Germany and but a Hymer.
We'll all make our own decisions.

What's happening at Motorhomefun
Lots happening on our forums this week. We were travelling for most of the week and missed plenty but enjoyed catching up with what has been going on. Subs
There has been some confusion about subs, especially those who had set up recurring payments with Paypal. We had to cancel these standing orders as it was not possible to change them to reflect the subs increase. Your subs are still good till they expire, we’ll remind you when they are due and you can set up another recurring payment then.
