whether overnighting or simply trying to park for the day there are more and more restrictions being placed including height barriers etc

Theres a petition going to have these restrictions looked at again

Whether you use sites or wildcamp is irrelevant this also covers places to park for the day to visit towns etc
Therfore its in every motorhomers interest to have available parking places

There's a list of things that need to be done to convert it. Headlights, foglights (needs either two, or offside only), speedo (must read in mph or both, not km/h only). This is all assuming it is EU type approved.

Eh???

Removing the height restrictions is fine but the problem with most car parks is that the spaces are just not big enough for us.

Where height restrictions are in place this is often done in response to earlier anti-social use of an area. Given the current press coverage of dirty camping of various sorts, now may not be the best time to ask for a review.

On the contrary i think its the perfect time.
The government wants people to stay in the uk ....they therfore need to tackle the issues with doing that.

Signed up.
We use street view to check for height barriers but that depends on how up-to date that is.
We’ve found similar problems with the big supermarkets In France recently , more of them have barriers too

and heres one of the reasons we are are locked of car parks. Inconsiderate motor home owners at Huttoft beach yesterday. 3 taking up 12 spaces and another 2 further up taking up 6 spaces.
I was in my van which is longer than my motorhome of 6.5 m. And parked correctly with no issues all.

Considering the carpark is half empty and no marked bays whats the problem?

Will sign but it will change nowt..
We are all judged by a tiny minority and local authorities are paranoid about giving the travelling itinerant community so much as an inch because they will always take a mile
Thanks to wishy washy left wing do gooders binding the hands of the police .councils know only too well how difficult it is to shift those mile takers, so are taking steps to avoid the situation

I do not like all the parking restrictions, but I def. do not blame councils for taking steps

Petition is doing not bad ...its gained over 400 signatures just today lol thats nearly the same as its got the last year

But kind of pathetic considering theres 250000 motorhomes in the uk

Its not half empty and even if it was that's not the point, they'd do the same if if it was full. It's the attitude that is the issue! Also bays are marked, just can't see them on the photo.

I can see at least 8 car spaces there and no one parked opposite the motorhomes that could be if needed.

That's half empty in scotland

Nothing wrong with the attitude either ...carpark looks clean and tidy and no obstruction
