I'm a Newbie
Just collected our new October 2019 registered Elddis Encore 255 from the dealer after some snagging issues.
Reversed onto my drive and hit the garage roof... oops, damaged side of moho at top.
As Encore has a decal wrap on the side assume a local repair the whole new wrap to the side.. or not any suggestions apart from what a MUPPET!!

Oops, definitely muppetry at its finest (y)
Has it punctured the aluminium ?
If so do a temporary repair to stop water ingress

I would just get it filled and painted. cost about £300 so cheaper than insurance claim

There are plenty of us in that club.

I turned around with a long jack handle in my hand and wacked the side of our new to us MH within a week or so of getting it.
After the scream that could be heard for ten miles and the feeling of nausea died away and getting an estimate to repair, I thought I would go with a cheaper option and make some fun of it, so put a sticker over the dent.

Sympathy!

Hope you can get it sorted.

Such a disappointing start to the great adventure... :(

I feel for you . Broke my bus after driving it 10 yards from my drive on its maiden voyage . Fixed easily enough but the air was royal blue

I also did something to my "brand new" and "just picked it up" from the dealer motorhome.

When I got it home I promptly reversed into a pile of bricks on the drive.

Just £90 repair for me though

Oops, Check with your local dent repairer to see what they recommend. Failing that I think you need to fill any cracks, holes and put a decal over it

Call me a cowboy, but...

I'd carefully fill it with body-filler to seal from water ingress, and to get it nice and flat. Then, I'd stick a small union jack over it, and do the same on the other of the van. Nobody would ever know.

Like that idea, you could get those that are metallic, 3D, stick on.
You will know what's under it everytime you look at the van but nobody else will.

We are hoping ours is not a disaster!
It's currently in winter storage at our Dealers.
The Dealer is now on an island as the river has burst it's banks,
Water is not expected to peak for a few more hours yet.

I'm watching the flood gauge, but zero I can do about it, as no way off the 'island'

I reversed into the fence coming home from our first shake-down trip.. It was lashing down and I didn't want SWMBO to get soaked and stay out longer than necessary to watch me back.., totally my fault but boy I was angry...

£160 and a little of my time and the bumper corner and rear OS light were replaced with genuine parts..

It also gave me an excuse to de-rust and hammerite the light brackets while under the MH (y)

Tahnk you all for your comments, wife wants it looking new again, goes in on Saturday for £1,500 repair DOH!
There goes the satellite system I promised myself.. still no one got hurt just my bank account.

at £1500 somebody is taking the pee. If it was in a dealership it would be fixed next day for about £200. The paint is not sun faded so quick to match. You would never know it had been damaged after being done

Reminds me, when I was about 20, my dad had purchased a new tipper lorry, had it hand painted for his DIY business, I decided I could use it to jump start my old escort van, jumped in, started reversing out of the yard down the lane, when there was this loud crunching sound, I had only forgotten to close the door which was now buckled and dented, I was only driving slowly, my dad was not happy, but not the reason he later went bankrupt.

What I like about this forum in general is the support from members, you read about the abuse on social media, but you very rarely see it on here and if it is then it is not tolerated.

I’m still driving round with duct tape holding the back corner together after my publicised argument with concrete at the tunnel check in. We decided against an insurance claim and booked it in to the local body shop last week. Unfortunately their painter gave his notice. We are back in France and will get it done when we get home.

PS, You dont have to hit the Garage roof with the other side just use a sticker

A camper we had a few years back had a vent on the side, we couldn't make out what it was venting. Took it off and it was covering a small dent and scratch. Just put it back on, it was like that when we sold it.
Excellent!
I lost a wheel trim and a new 'correct' one was an arm and a leg job. I bought a very cheap pair of generic ones on Special Offer at Halfords and fitted them both on the same side. In the ten years before I sold it no-one had ever noticed.

I'd definitely be getting a second opinion / quote for that value...

My condolences. I remember when I caught the side of my caravan on an overhanging roof how angry I was with my self.
You dont need a satellite nowadays get everything via mobile sim card.

Whats behind it, You could fit a window there cheaper. In fact it looks like it could be in the bathroom so a matching vent to the other 2 and an extractor fan would go well
