Thought this might be of general interest.

Whilst we are really pleased with our new Globecar Summit Prime 540 there were a couple of things that irritated us once we started using it.

Firstly the tap for the sink is right next to the bed and it‘s very easy to knock the tap lever accidentally resulting in water pouring on the bed or over the closed sink cover. When you wash up in the sink it‘s easy to splash the bedding.
Secondly, there is an access gate to the garage area under the bed but this can only be opened vertically by sliding the gate upwards which requires you to lift the bedding up to do this.
We’ve therefore had some work done to remedy these problems
First we’ve had a removable perspex screen fitted between the bed and the sink area
and secondly we’ve had a door inserted into the gate below the bed so that we now have easy access below.

We used the guys at ‘Get Sheet Done’ to do this work for us. Great couple of guys (Nick and Rory) based down in Lydbrook, Gloucestershire (https://www.getsheetdone.co.uk/). They are not far from Ross on Wye so loads of lovely places to pitch up nearby if required.

It’s disappointing that manufacturers of these vans don’t give a bit more thought to the basic designs before they release these vans, but at the same time it’s also quite satisfying to get the van into a sharp that suits you!

Nice mods and as you say, very satisfying to make improvements.

I've used no end of irritating showers at camp sites and marinas where the designer has obviously never used them him/her self.

I recently reviewed a number of yank vans on YouTube and they’re streets ahead of us. Clever designs, better use of space, lots of choices if buying new. Shame the Brits and Europe aren’t reviewing the same clips!!

Well done on the mods too 👍🏻

But aren’t most of the UK/European Motorhome builders owned by American companies now……..?

Not sure, but they certainly don’t put the same level of detail into the UK vans, which is a real shame.
