Hi guys after recommendations for a mobile mifi which can be powered by mains of 12v , with a a sucker type Ariel . Any suggestions welcome but this is mainly to enable me to work from 2nd home ;-)

I have tried a few simple devices like the Buzzard2 from EE but moved on to this one and happy so far from a couple of outings (had to buy 12v power lead saprately).

This is our current set up . It works really well . Usb cable for charging so works on 12v 👍🏻

Can I be cheeky and ask for the model number ? Is the item on the top the Ariel ?

Yes that’s right . You can move the antenna if required to get a better signal . . The antenna is for a Netgear Aircard .

I used an antenna like the aircard for a couple of years. It wasn't branded Netgear so probably a clone but it worked. I connected it to a Huawei 5577 - of which there are several sorts and some don't have two antenna ports - which is what you need.

We have a Netgear M2, haven't actually needed an additional antenna, but I did have one on our old Moho.

If you do have the mifi permanently wired, might be a good idea to remove the battery?

Have you looked at 3's "home" Wifi BBand..
If you check the spec.. it runs from a 240v trans.. to 12v..
Which I reckon you could cut the lead.. and use in a Moho/caravan..
Another option could be.. male/ female plug (at cut) to allow you to reconnect to use at home
They offer better deals on their home BB routers.. than they do on their Mifi products.. 👍

Am I missing something with all this Mifi?

I had a spare mobile broadband router from EE at home. Like all routers it runs off 12v, so I just chopped the cable and wired it into the 12v supply. Bung in my SIM card and Bob’s your uncle.

You can get them for under twenty quid on eBay if you haven’t got one.

Does mifi do something special?
