Hello

The mixer tap on out kitchen sink is not working, just a trickle so replaced the cartridge. Tap still not working just a trickle, pump fires ok, shower and tap over bathroom sink both working OK. Any suggestions

Has it ever worked normally?
What have you done re running out of water, emptying tank since it worked?
Can you disconnect the feed pipes to the tap? (Dont do this if pressure system and power on)

As GJH said, take the aerator off the spout and soak it in limescale remover 👍

HI Yes it has worked normally before. The water seems to be getting there, plenty of water runing out while changing the cartridge. We have removed the aerator all together. Is it possible the blockage is in the spout? May need a whole new tap assembly. Anyway will look into it further on my hols, off to Cornwal tomorrow. will keep checking to see if anymore helpful info comes up. Many thanks (y)

Rather than faff about with the one in our Bessie after somebody hadn't drained all the water out of the system well enough before the winter (!) so had more wrong than right with it - we went to B&Q and bought a new stainless steel kitchen mixer tap with the same fittings, brought it home and fitted it. Still working perfectly when we traded it in 4 years later.

Enjoy u'r hols.
A little water goes a long way when you are trying to mop it up and stop it going where it shouldn't while changing the cartridge.
Can only be a blockage either in the feed or the tap itself. Unlikely to be both hot and cold feeds blocked simultaneously unless the pipes have been kinked or compressed. So if not the feed its pointing to the tap.
Let us know when u fix it.
