2 Converging motor homes. PVC meets coachbuilt both doing at least 40mpg. Splat. I can't imagine any mirrorguard would have survived that.
I have the damaged item off the van and when I resolve if there is any potential to replace with a powered unit I should be back in action.
It's a struggle to get a handle on whether the electrics are compatible with the upgrade but hopefully I will resolve that tomorrow.
Or sooner if there is anyone out there with any ideas/advice.
Failing that it will be a straight replacement of the demised mirror which is electric adjustment and heated.
My van is a 2019 Fiat Ducato.

I can't imagine the standard van mirrors will be too expensive, that's why I haven't bothered with the mirror guards on ours.

I got a replacement on E-bay for my Fiat Ducato, £69, powered and with temp sensor. If you order one make sure and get the right size, there is a small reach, medium andlLong. Easy fit.

Thanks for the replies. Sourcing the mirrors is not my problem. I'm trying to establish if the pre-wired electrical loom will accept the powered folding of the mirror. The existing was manual.
Oh, and I will be fitting guards as the inconvenience of exchanging let alone the cost is a no-brainer.
Plus if I get a disco melody- fluorescent -dayglow- striped laser beam finish it might alert oncoming traffic.
I should have known better, I suspect a motorhome including those long arm mirrors is as wide as a bus or wagon.
I was surprised that mine on a PVC project 300mm each side.

Following discussion on this forum I decided to go and fit white mirror guards on a cab that is mainly black, they certainly stand out more than the previous factory coloured black ones. I will prob fit reflective tape aswell for night time driving.

Mirror guard works I have had 2 hits and only minor scratches on guards, I would have expected shattered glass etc on both Occasions, the other drivers were smashed 🤪
Same here except only smashed the mirror on one of the other vehicles and the mirror guard now has a slight crack in it. The mirror was hit with such force that it slammed back against the door frame, I was expecting it unlike the missus who nearly jumped out of her skin :giggle:

You can get reflective tape for mirrors. Think they’re called vanears

Not, now I've fitted short arm mirrors. Doesn't suit all vans.

If you purchase an electric replacement make sure it's for the correct vehicle, left hooker mirrors will fit a right hand drive but won't be at the correct angle. I remember someone on here making that mistake.
