Morning All,

Last night on our local news there was a report on how the locals in Minehead were revolting.???

Apparently, motorhome owners were doing something that "wasn't illegal" Eh!

They were disposing of toilet waste down the toilets of the local Conveniences.

In order to 'Big Up' the story, it was stated that as a result of doing so, the motorhomers
were 'Increasing the risk of spreading COVID' Eh? What?

Whilst I appreciate that emptying a cassette could, in some cases cause a 'splashback'
I found it interesting that nowhere on the article did it say, (and it would, you just KNOW it would)
say that the toilets had been left in a dirty condition.

So, there you have it. Who knew? It's now a reportable event that emptying human waste in a human
waste receptacle is newsworthy.

It’s all sh1te 😉

Now im not your usual expert but, are some toilet fluids not harmful to the good bacteria in cesspits and the like. Apart from that, have you attempted to use a public toilet that is being used by for the disposal of blue toilet cassettes. Try it, it is disgusting,
Just another tall story from FLTs who want others to foot the bill for their incocideration.

Some of the cassettes being emptied on site make me gag . I am sure the same stink in public loos goes down a bundle . I suspect that wild camping cassettes are far worse than campsite ones

That's the least of your wories buttons You'd be far more appalled at the mineheadians smoking in the pubs in winter & autumn.
A toilet is a toilet is a toilet.Try using some after some other types have 'used' them.

Why? BUSBY.

I generally take the spray of dilute zoflora and air freshener, gloves and paper cleaning cloth with me if I HAVE to empty the cassette in a public loo so I leave it cleaner than when I arrived and smelling fresh as well.

Those blue puddles on the floor gus. What do you do with your trousers while you are sitting on a public loo. I know....you dont use public loos, you have your own loo in your caravan. Well aint you the lucky one ;)

No I don't use chemicals. Anyway most toilets I've used at any time the floor is covered in **ss as most men **ss everywhere so you always have to clean the whole seat basin etc before it can be used . So can't see how anyone emptying a cassette or bucket down it is any different as most can't do it without a mess anyway.

Another reason for the setting up of chargeable Aires with appropriate drainage and services.
Bet the business owners are happy to take the visitor's money

I used the public loo in Saint Albans this morning, it was spotless and fresh as a daisy. I also used the one in Windsor today, again a pleasure.....Common factor.......not a motorhome for miles..(y)

Could be because we use our own facilities

My camper is parked on the drive, not suitable transport for todays trip. Today is another roaster it was 30c @ 9am we had breakfast in Winsor Wetherspoons @ 8am which was lovely. Then set the car climate control at min and drove to St Albans then onto Dunstable then back to Watford using country lanes all the way having a great time driving. Something not possible in the camper. Now sitting in the garden getting a few rays without worrying about emptying the loo. (y)

I have a Septic tank at home, and use a German product that does not destroy the bacteria,. Once stopped in Cheshire at a public toilet emptying the cassette, after an exchange of letters with environmental health, they agreed I was causing no harm. They had issues with Formaldehyde based products.

You mean you actually sit on a public loo ???
You're braver than me, as a truly last resort i'd adopt the hover technique, but sit, never.

It's Minehead in the silly season, not to be confused with the winter crazy season. This is the only few weeks in the year that the Minehead gene pool can be possibly expanded. Tipping chemical toilets down into their sewer system could interrupt their breeding process

And easy enough at any resort with a couple of ski poles (but obviously it's advisable to remove your skis first if there isn't a big enough gap under the door for them to poke out).

You could always adapt the squating method as they do in many far estern nations.
Then all you have to worry about is hosing your shoes off.

If that's Alma gardens , Windsor coach park with motorhome parking the wall tilling is excellent probably due to the permanent resident cleaning attendant ,& a lovely lady she is.(y)

And why not? Why shouldn't they bitch about it?

Emmit you should go take a look at the public loos at the Lizard during the season, make sure you are wearing welly boots!

I don't mind anyone having a moan if it's justified, But,

At no time in the news article did it say that the motorhomers caused a mess. They were complaining that the motorhomers were using the 'facilities.'

You can be in no doubt that it would have been mentioned if that was the case.
