Hi ..I've got a e5577c huawei mifi.with superdrug sim

Worked OK in UK but in spain not at all. Just getting profile management error.

Help please

Cheers

You may have to amend the APN in the mifi dongle settings.
If you search on here for MiFi APN it will bring back a number of threads on this.
<Broken link removed>

We are just back from France using the same setup. We did follow some setup info about alter APN before going and all worked well with no limits.

That's my setup been away for over 4 weeks 3½ in Spain used 85 GB so far.

Superdrug sim is on Three and suffers all the usual Three problems when roaming about the worst network sim for roaming but once you get used to it, its liveable especially for unlimited data.

First off did you enable it in the UK and use some data before going abroad, if not it won't work roaming.

As Gellyneck says have you set up the APN correctly.

Two things I find with the Three sims is nearly every time you move you need to change network carriers as the auto select logs onto their chosen carrier which can be very restricted on speed, even when on a better carrier its still restricted but fast enough for streaming.

Other thing that keeps happening the Mifi logs out of the administrator account then data either slows right down or stops, sometimes I have to log back in ½ doz times a day other times its OK for days. Only happens with a Three sim.

Go into the menu on the mifi, and find the APN bit. It then gives you an option to + one. Press that and enter
Superdrug.net, and leave name and password blank. Save that.

Do yo have to turn roaming on.

We didn’t find the above listed problems. Superdrug mobile worked faultlessly for us all over France needed no fiddling always staying on admin (which I can’t see the supplier altering). Much better than the Vodafone we’ve just binned for it, including it’s speed.

Hi roaming needs to be on, Superdrug uses the 3 NETWORK

I've used Vodaphone a bit of a pain to set up but once working no problems.
Also use EE that works seamlessly, our phones are on Plus net that uses EE.

Over the years I've used Three quite a few times always been a right pain when roaming, limited choice of networks to log onto and bandwidth throttled.
On this trip with the Superdrug sim logged onto a network I get 12mb/s, with the EE sim logged onto the same network 33mb/s.

Ours has never worked properly. We piggy back onto our phones.

Like I said Three network is always a pain but once you get on top of it it's works even if a bit slow.
Found the unlimited data useful now all the catchup apps stream live TV.

Lenny,

What are the main catch-up apps you use whilst abroad? (y)

I player, itv hub, 4, my5, all the normal ones.
Also been using Netflix & Prime.

We can‘t get them outside the UK on our iPads or phones.

Haven’t got a TV in the van, so no Amazon Firestick. Have no idea how to set up a VPN, so we’ll stick with downloads before we leave the UK……and books. (y)

How are you trying to access them? Site WiFi or data from your phone using a UK sim?
WiFi you pick up abroad will not allow access. You need data via a UK sim or go down the vpn route which can be a pain.

If you have a UK sim they just work as normal when abroad.

Nope. Never been able to get them working in Cyprus, Germany, France or Spain. BBC iplayer and ITV Hub states we can’t use it outside the UK, when trying to login. 🤷‍♂️

That’s having contracts with Tesco, EE and Three at different times.

Latest attempts have been all UK sims. Smarty in the van MiFi, Three in both our mobile phones. 🤷‍♂️

Don't know what you are doing them they have been working fine with UK sims for about the last 3 years.
I've use EE (Plus net sim) , Vodafone, Three and now Superdrug (on Three).

‘Don’t know what I’m doing’?……..Spot on. (y)

There you go………I’m not going mad. We download stuff to my iPad, before leaving the UK, but that’s it.

Was using BBC yesterday in France and have been over the last 4 years without problem, using UK sims.

But if you are using a UK sim to their server you appear to be in the UK.

We are watching the Repair Shop on BBC 1 on iplayer in Spain at the moment using a Superdrug sim.

Definitely 3 x UK (and activated in the UK) SIM cards. I’ll be buggered if I know what’s going on. 🤷‍♂️

Tried logging on through the Smarty MiFi, and by setting up both of our phones (on Three contracts) as Hotspots……same result every time…..You’re abroad, you can’t use this service.

Great program by the way. (y)

Are you abroad now?
If you are, with one of the phones that the iPlayer app is installed on.
Turn off WiFi, turn on data and roaming and make sure it's working ( connect to internet).
Start iPlayer app. It should connect.

We’re not abroad at the moment…….unless you class Lincolnshire as abroad (Half Term child minding duties). The van is sitting at home in Somerset.

Mifi and phones all set up for Roaming, data saver on on phones until setting up for Hotspot. Internet access on all devices fine, but can’t get any of the UK TV stuff whilst overseas.

Exactly what we do, but no UK TV apps will work abroad. 🤷‍♂️
