Is this the start of the end of windows
Big Brother getting very much bigger.
And didn't Apple move to Linux ?
Yes and no.
Mac OS has always been Unix based so they didn't move there, they were already there
I just snorted my coffee all over my keyboard...
Microsoft has reached for Linux for a security based distribution. There is only two reason I can think for this. They are either not confident in the security of the Windows Kernel or they can't make it small enough/fast enough for this task...
Either way, I am still happy with my Linux desktop, nice fast and secure
Off to get some tissues to clean up the coffee. Always makes me laugh when a company scores an own goal like this...
I read on a bit more, and realised there is a 3rd possible reason.
Linux updates don't take ages and don't require a reboot... For IoT devices reboots every day are not really practical.
My recollection is that Win10 was going to be the final MS Windoze OS.
Kind of, but no. They are not going to be releasing window 11 etc etc. Windows 10 is a continuously updated OS. I think twice a year they release an update for it.
Current update "Spring Edition" or what ever it is called has been delayed due to too many BSOD's...
