RP Rebel on order

Newbie
We are about to "firm-up" on our new RP Rebel options. I'm assuming that the Merc Sprinter comes with some sort of security. What security would others advise? There is likely to be a pusscat onboard, so a screaming alarm woudl not make sense tro us, but something that sends a phone message I suppose. Perhaps a Tracker S5 Plus? (https://www.tracker.co.uk/personal-solutions/trackers-motorhomes)

We will almost exclusively be driving around Scotland & the North of England. Perhaps with a Norway visit tucked-in sometime. The PVC will be parked on my drive at home. My house is in a remote location.

We also have a Mercedes’ pvc, we use the Mercedes standard alarm, you can disable the internal sensors for sleeping or leaving pets. Has been v reliable. Combined this with a tracker, as you suggested with an app and messaging if Van moved. Great for monitoring when van is at dealer or in garage!
this was all I needed for insurance purposes.

Consider a non-starter if you don’t want noisy alarm.

Thanks

The WIldax is a nice PVC.

I would fit extra security door locks. We have a Mercedes’ Sprinter are were robbed in Marseille while sleeping. They somehow picked the drivers door lock and overrode the alarm.

Apparently the Mercedes sprinter is the most stolen van in the UK. I don't know whether it is lack of security or just a more desirable van.

Thanks for the info. Can I ask, as I don't have my van yet, does the Merc come with that keyless entry system where you can unlock (& drive away) with the keys on your pocket?

Update: I note that the Premium & Exclusive versions both have keyless start (& I assume keyless entry). If so, then key cloning becomes a strong possibility.

Mine had standard locks - 2016
