Lots now
We would like to meet up with family 4 adults 2 kids including ourselves.
We are currently near to Whitchurch Shropshire they are Tingly yorkshire the obvious place I think to meet is the Peak District and go for a walk, is there anywhere that would not put pressure on the local area.
(Accessible parking and wide open spaces)
We have up to now exercised without using the car and completely isolated from everyone except to do food shopping.
Would this be irresponsible of us to do this in a weeks time.
No motorhome will be involved in this process.

Please no jokes about castle Barnard (Barnard castle).

Can we do jokes about Tingly, Yorkshire then?

Oops just realised its Tingley Yorkshire Not tingly . My bad.

It shouldn’t be a problem under the new rules. However, you still have the ill informed to contend with. Down here in Devon and Cornwall it’s almost lynch mobs in some places. A recent example.... a nurse was slapped across the face for wearing her uniform in the street and potentially carrying the virus..... but she was a district nurse on her rounds.
As I say, you can manage the virus but not the uneducated.

Could you pick a National Trust property with gardens to meet at ? I got an email yesterday saying they were reopening some gardens shortly.

Well I certainly hope she pressed charges against the person that slapped her!! This sort of behaviour is totally unacceptable and needs to be highlighted to others that it won't be tolerated by the authorities:mad:

If you go towards hartington from the Ashbourne to Buxton road on the road in you will see a sign, tissington trail car park, we went there last Saturday only a couple of cars there, tables and chairs set out, and walkers on the trail.

As above , toilets are going to be your issue

my daughter drove to see her sister ( my other daughter ) stopped to use motorway service Loos and has vowed never again till virus well gone

no toilets will be open anywhere in the country or towns for that matter

Next week some public toilets are starting to be re-opened (Including the ones in our village).

Having had a quick look on the National Trust website their latest updates includes info on whether toilets are open (and times).

Local council opening some toilets but who would want to use them as there will be no way to totally disinfect between users.

5 blokes one lady. We will have an old 8 litres water bottle. Sister in law well she’s like a camel.

Any meet would benefit from actually going in the MH - toilet and washing facilities.
As we are using our motorhome as our primary residence that’s actually not suitable.

I think like lots of decisions we are all making at the moment it will be up to the individual, their view on risk etc.

I am very happy to stay at home and don’t have this dilemma but Mr porky was looking for a bit of info on how he might meet family.

If you go.M62 corridor .Pull off and get up onto Saddleworth moor area, plenty of space there.
Tea Bag

In the end we decided on bakewell. We arrived at 10am did a fantastic walk about 6 miles around bakewell and finished early afternoon. Social distancing was observed at all times.
Although when we left it was a lot busier but everyone was adhering to the rules.
p.s. The Bakewell tart I picked up is very tasty.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your walk but I'm not sure you should be sharing that information on a family forum :p :p

You have to go online to book these. They release new times every Friday and there is a virtual queue. It can take a while ( wewerequeuingfor about a hour) but there is no indication of how long the queue is ( like there is at Aldi, B&Q etc). Worth waiting though!

Not all of them, only the really popular ones require you to book, our local one is open without booking online.

Yes sorry you are right of course. As you say check online if the one you want needs to be booked. I have booked to visit one this Thursday. We intend to take the Moho so we are self contained. I’m not sure they will let us in and can’t get an answer by phone, so w will just turn up and come home again if they don’t let us in

If it’s one with a big coach parking area you should be ok .
