Just trying to arrange flying my cousin from Manchester airport next week to Canada..
She's flying from here to Leeds so see my brother.

Then thinking of her getting a train from Leeds to Manchester airport.

Plane flies about 8:00 AM to Canada.

How far is station from the terminal? Is there a moving walkway.
She has a big suitcase.

Thanks in advance.

It depends which terminal?
Phil

Ryanair use T3 and it is a fair walk with moving walkways part of the way.

Easyjet use T1 which is nearer, there are lifts for use if you have large suitcases and/or trolleys.

Hmm. Not sure. She's flying to Canada.
Have a look here for which terminal (if you know the airline \ destination)
.

That'll be terminal 2
The train from Leeds will go into Piccadilly I think, then the metro to the airport.
Shouldn't be too much carrying, not sure how much will be on moving walkways though ?

Air Transat, terminal 1 :)

Aha, so not direct then ? :(

She's not too well and maybe not up to too much hassle :(

We get disabled assistance at the airport, from Porto, Portugal to Stanstead and return, asked for when booking or ring beforehand. Absolutely brilliant service. Would this be something she could ask for, not sure about getting to the station though, maybe taxi? Ask flight operators about this service.

There are lots of trains from Leeds which go to Manchester Airport without changing.

Correct, as Manchester Airport prides itself as being a major transport hub for aircraft, trains, buses and coaches. It services passengers not even going on a flight.

There, are direct trains into the airport but not sure about from Leeds, if not I would advise the train from Victoria, Oxford Road or Piccadilly.

The train takes 15 minutes the Metro about 45!

Just checked on trainline and there are direct trains from Leeds tp Manchester,Airport.

I was a bit slow with that one

We travelled in by train to catch flight a few years ago but cannot remember which terminal but fairly certain we use the Skylink, an elevated pedestrian walkway which you can walk at your own speed or the moving walkway.
A bit of digging on the net shows it links the Railway Station and Terminal 1.

There is also a YouTube video but the person taking the video was a 'dawdler' but it gives you an idea of the setup.

Just read the thread again and noted she is flying at 8am so will have to check in at silly o'clock 5 or 6 am so doubt she will get a train from Leeds to meet that deadline. Perhaps a train the evening before and an airport hotel? Most have shuttle services to whichever terminal you need.

EDIT
I wouldn't have believed it but there are trains that would get her there on time!!!!!!

Assuming a weekday....
