Decided to have a couple of days away to check the van over after lockdown. Thought we would top the LPG cylinders on the way out. We live halfway between Nottingham and Derby so an easy station for us was the A50 near junction with M1, pump gone. So a few miles up A50 to junction with A38 as we also have used them in the past .Pump gone. Both garage still have signs up saying LPG for sale, Internet also lists them as supplier.
Does anyone KNOW were I can buy some in my area or should I just start ringing garage's in my area to ask if the still have there pumps working? Thanks in advance

Fill LPG is quite a good and accurate site.

Shell/Autogas have a policy of removing all the LPG fill up points, they will all be gone by the end of the year, so typically avoid Shell stations

Got a booking for having gaslow fitted, but now starting to wonder if it’s a good idea as so many outlets seem to be closing. Go to France/Spain for about 6 weeks per year where it will be useful but that still leaves 46 weeks in UK. Was planning on having 1 x 6kg Gaslow & 1 x 6kg Calor. Any ideas?
Edit. Sorry teddybear , just realised I’ve hijacked this thread :(

I think the trick is using one of the Apps, find one on your normal routes N, S, E and W from home. For example we use one on the way down to and from Dover and there is a brand new one installed at a Texaco garage in Leatherhead just off M25.

Salisbury had a calor gas centre which allowed gaslow refills.

I recently swapped my two 13kg calor for a twin 11kg GasIt kit. Fantastic so far. But I kept the original Calor pigtail to the regulator and just fitted a converter screw to each gas it bottle. I kept one 13kg calor bottle (in the garage at home) so if I have an issue getting gas locally I can quickly stick it in my gas locker and connect straight up. When abroad I don’t anticipate not being able to locate gas.

There are 2 in Dudley and Walsall just opened up so the market is still there.

Do what many have done.
Fit one Gaslow and leave one Calor

It means you use the single Gaslow tank as the main tank, and the Calor as the reserve.
Best of both worlds then.

It means if you want to upgrade to double Gaslow in the future it's simply a case of getting a gaslow bottle and fitting just like a Calor.
Or depending on where you are, you can swap between them.
Snowbirds in Spain for the entire winter often have a single Gaslow and a Spanish Repsol bottle instead of Calor, but it's the same idea

The other option is to go double Gaslow and then for £18 get to 2m long pigtail hose that means you can use an external Calor bottle in case of emergencies.
(or get a Repsol version of the pig tail and then all bases covered!)
Obviously you need to buy these now, not when you are in Spain with no gas !

Never had a problem anywhere. I just do as GMLS suggests. I don't think I've ever left for a journey with full cylinders. If the worst occurs I'll simply buy a propane cylinder & plug it into the BBQ outlet. I carry a (so far unused) adaptor with regulator for the job. I have a couple of propane cylinders at home but haven't felt the need to carry one.

I used Spondon Asda the other day on the eastern side of Derby. 53p a litre.

This is worth a read. It also lists the decommissioning dates for all the Shell LPG garages. They'll all be gone by the end of the year.
<Broken link removed>

I used the Safefill website for locations
Never ever stopped at a petrol station ( its dearer fir a start) ,but used Calor outlets with a pump

Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions, spotted a station on way back from trip so now have 2 full bottles

I just had a wasted 40minute trip to my local shell. To find it out of gas presumably in prep for its removal in August. (shell Titchfield) Its getting frustrating! I updated filllpg app with the status. On Friday night I'm travelling to eurotunnel. Up a3 round m25 and down m20. I guess my best bet is the leatherhead texaco mentioned above. Or maybe I should wait and fill at citie Europe?

If coming up the M3 or A3 to M25, come off at M25 J11 Chertsey towards Weybridge. About 1/2 mile, first roundabout 4th Exit towards Addlestone, couple of hundred yards over hump bridge, Shell garage, Addlestone 24 hours - Flogas so it will keep it's pump and a few days ago was below 60p litre.

Not in your area, but I went past 2 Murco petrol stations today that appeared to be selling it. Somerset, Wiltshire area.

We fill up before going away at our local Morrisojns in Sittingbourne, still at a good price of 57.7p per litre

Should have posted this earlier, Sorry.

Asda Cribbs Causeway, Bristol were not supplying (don't know why) but Morrisons around the corner was still in operation.

I filled up 3 weeks ago at Asda Cribbs?? Andy's Gas not far away sells it too.

Topped up 10 days ago in Stockport, and refilled on the way back, 58p per litre. Lots of BP stations on the York to Brid roads selling lpg plus a private garage. Still available out there folks. (y)
