The gaslow bottles we have with auto changeover empty one bottle at a time so two sensors work for us.

Fitted 2 of these a couple of weeks back - brilliant bit of kit! Simple to use and no more guessing!

I think they must be subtly different with a refresh rate of 1.5 s to 5 sec and cr2032 and lr44 batteries 3v, 1.5v. Is the refresh rate software driven?

Sorry I can’t answer that question, I’m just repeating what someone said in a post that they were both the same units , but I would think whether it is 1.5 or 5 second refresh it won’t make much difference ( can’t use much gas in 5 seconds) if you have been driving you have to wait a little bit for the bottles to settle before reading accurately

The more expensive one is a pack of 2 sensors.

Refresh rate can be changed between 1.5 and 5 seconds using the button on the unit.

My original one is still working fine (y)

The Gas-it units are re-badged Mopeka units after Gas-it did a deal with Mopeka for sole distribution of the Mopeka range under the Gas-it brand in the UK, hence the LPG shop and the like are saying that the Mopeka brand are no longer available through them.

Has anyone else made it work successfully with an Alugas cylinder?
Tony

Tony, did you ever get it to work to your satisfaction?
We are seriously considering Alugas for our new van and would really like to use the sensor!

Ours never read more than 80% full even on a brand new tank but once you take that into account (and the fact they only work when the van is perfectly level!) they are excellent.

Scotsblood it has been working without intervention for a few weeks while we have been in the Mosel. I can't really say exactly what combination of bits worked but it was a case of careful positioning and a bit of padding/wedging to hold it in place, combined with the piece of aluminium I mentioned above. There were quite a lot of false starts. I hope I haven't jinxed it by saying it's working!

As BobtheBass says it will read 80% on a full tank if you set it up for the correct size.

We filled up once while we were away and that was really because it was so cheap in Holland on the way home (just over 50c a litre even on a motorway). That means I haven't tested it all the way down to zero but it seems pretty consistent as you use a couple of percent every day.

Sorry didn’t realise, I did try to help others, mine arrived Sat and works very well ?. I think they may have now realised they were selling 2 in the package instead of 1

I decided to sell mine before fitting and replaced my Alugas cylinders for the latest version with built-in crash protection and sensible, accurate gauges readable from the side.

Nothing wrong with Mopeka system but I decided I preferred the new Alugas and didn't want the hassle of replacing batteries every couple of years.

I got one sent from a friend in the USA ??. My refresh is 3.5 seconds but if you hold set button for 5 or more seconds. It will adjust the refresh to 10 seconds. That’s a more sensible refresh I think giving a little not battery life.
It really is a cracking bit of kit my bottle gauge reads nearly full. Once app fitted it was only 47%. ?

I hate it when Funsters find a new gadget that works and will actually be useful! I thought this site would save me money!!!!!!
Couple of questions

- How are these units working longer term?
- I see from the NEC thread that Fun is trying to get a discount, any update on how this is progressing?

Thanks

It's first winter season with ours fitted here in Spain, one was quite easy to detect and worked fine from the go, the second one took a bit of fiddling but now works fine. I will be running a Spanish cylinder through the filler point as soon as one cylinder is empty and will transfer the second sensor to the Spanish bottle to monitor that, let's hope I don't leave the sensor on when I go for a replacement !!!
We bought ours direct from the USA and they cost about £85 including import duty.
Cheers

No mention of the release yet of the Gas-It horizontal tank version supposedly under test?

The update to the app for the underslung horizontal tanks have been available for a couple of months or so now and a new update to the app was released last month.

I got a set when I fitted my Gasit system and am very happy with it,the help and support and the Mopika level gauges.
After about a month one sensor started giving erratic readings then stopped working. The folk at Gasit were very helpful in trying to diagnose the problem and very quick in fixing it.
I am a very happy customer that can see why they have such a good reputation.

Spent ages reading this thread and nothing can convince me I need one. I have a 6kg and 11kg gasit, when the 6kg is empty I’m looking to fill up even knowing the 11kg gives me plenty of time to do so. If I only had one bottle then I’d want one.

Mickey.
