Just fitted one of these. Seems to be excellent so far. Installed navigation apps onto it directly Amazon
ATOTO S8 Lite S8G2113LT Double... Amazon product ASIN B08YRF2J6F
Hi both, any more feedback on these units please? I'm looking to upgrade the radio in my 2018 Boxer as DAB is useless!!

Whilst I can't report on any of those specific models, I know after a lot of research, I avoided cheap android based units and initially went with the Sony XAV‑AX3005DB, which I found sluggish to respond, although a friend just fitted one and loves his, I followed this up with a Kenwood DMX7017DABS which I really liked, but like most head units of this style they are set up for left hand drive vehicles and the volume controls as such are set on the left of the unit and a bit of a reach from the drivers seat in the ducato.

I've recently replaced that with a Pioneer avh-x8700bt, which again has volume controls on the left but these will take a Sony remote for easy control and I really like this unit as it has a SD card slot, and an old fashioned CD player too, but no dab as I just use planet rock on Android auto when I want to listen to that station.

As you've guessed, I don't have steering wheel controls 😭

Oh, and the rear view camera is better to set up on the pioneer than the kenwood, the pioneer allows you to flip the image on the head unit, whilst the kenwood doesn't, so had to change out my camera for one that has the "links" on that you cut to flip the image

Thanks for the quick response Bobby and blimey, you've spent some money on head units 😆

I'll have a look at all these, thanks.

Nah, the Sony was bought at at halfords so they exchanged it for the kenwood, then I bought the pioneer off this very site and sold my kenwood to another guy at work 😎

I have just purchased the following, I will let you know after fittting:
Camecho Carplay Double Din Car Stereo 10.1 Inch HD Touch Screen Bluetooth Car
Hi Lonnie, got the unit fitted, the instructions (tiny writing, you may need a magnifying glass!) are minimal, a couple of diagrams, one displays what the wires connect to.
The unit powers up like an android phone, you have to have a permanent power supply which will be a drain on the vehicle battery, not sure yet how long it would take to drain, would be a good idea to have the vehicle battery on trickle charge when it's not being used.
It has a lot of apps just like an android phone, it will need an internet connection for these apps to work.
The radio will work without the internet, there is a DAB radio app but needs internet. I hooked up OK through the hotspot set up on my android.
Camera is not yet fitted.
Install of the unit was not easy, had to modify the facia to get it to fit, it sits proud of the facia as it's bigger than a double din radio and not flush fitting, the operation of it is easy if your into android, quite impressive really for what you pay for, it's just like a android tablet with a standard radio fitted, fairly easy to operate, just wish the fitting instructions were more user friendly, you need to know about wiring really if it's a self install.
Once I get it fully installed. (hopefully!) I will let you know.

Many thanks for the reply Philom and hope the install has gone ok!

After a lot of research, especially Youtube, I've plumped for a T'eyes unit. This guy (Saab Unleashed) has tested lots of units but he was pretty impressed by the CC3 and installed it in a Cherokee!

The downside, it's an Australian company so don't know long it will take to get to me. The 'base' CC3 for Boxer/ Ducato/ Relay comes in at £250 but with a DAB adaptor and shipping, the final bill was £315. Email exchanges with the company have been OK and I've sent a picture of the back of my OEM unit so they can supply the right wiring connections for the Boxer Canbus as well as the replacement trim.

From what I can see, I should also be able to connect the existing rear camera but as the unit is good resolution, I dont knoiw what this will look like with the standard 2018 rear camera fitted by Elddis.

I'm sure, like yourself, there will be a bit of fettling to get it fitted!
