As a continuation to the discussion previously regarding Caravan vs Motorhome numbers, and following my “count” at Home Farm in Anglesey last weekend, I thought I would start a thread to do an informal survey of numbers

Last 2 days at Southport CAMC, and as of a few minutes ago there are roughly 120 outfits here
80 are Caravans
40 are MoHos including 5 VW sized

any one else interested please feel free to post your “ count”

No agenda here, just out of interest

I’ve got some knee pads

Last night at the Station at Ribblehead, 6 motorhomes, 2 Volvo XC90s, some sort of Audi, a Ferrari and a proper Land Rover.🍺

I would be well impressed if you could say how many Brit vans versus the continental variety.

At the Green Frog in Moffat about 20 units here 16 of them are motorhomes 4 caravans and 3 tents but didn’t count them.

Oh another motorhome has just turned up

For the past 5 days 100% motorhomes and in the last hour we have been joined by 2 more so that is 3-0

More arrivals as you would expect on a Friday
Latest count of MoHo (still outnumbered)

51 British
14 Continental
2 self builds
3 VW +1 Renault Trafic

Just come back from 5 nights at Flamborough. On the CL over the time it was evens - 3 caravans, 3 m/homes or camper vans.
On the road there on Sunday and back today it was about 2 caravans to every m/home!

1100 people i our village, divided by say an average of 4 persons per house = 275 "homes" and i know of 18 camping cars in our village so that's 1 camper for every 15.30 people. There's 4 caravans that i know of as well.

We usually find that in the early season when it's colder and wetter that then % of camping cars is much higher vs caravan and anything else. Com the summer that all changes for those on longer vacations and with the better weather all the true campers in tents literally pop up

Sounds about the right split. But for MHers accounting for about a third of the club membership it would still be called the Caravan Club.

I didn't do a count at Cirencester Park a week ago. Nevertheless the MHs were abundant. The number of caravans might have been greater had the grass pitches not been closed because of all the rain and bookings cancelled by the wardens.

Posted elsewhere.
Yesterday, our last day on Plessay in our section there are 32 pitches, all full, 29 caravans 3 MHs when we left.

Never mind the stats regarding caravans or Motorhomes what about the number of dogs that on site; just left Pembrey where they out number the people!
