Hi all,
Just been planning a short trip to Lake Garda in late April, has to be weekend to weekend so only 9 days.
I've come up (thanks to many various posts and reviews) with the following route/stop overs, would love to know what people think?
Day 0 (yes, not acutally the first day): Evening drive to Dover (from Midlands) and wild it at Marine Parade, Dover
Day 1: Catch an early crossing to Calais and drive to Metz, staying at Camp Municipal Metz-Plage overnight
Day 2: Drive to Lucerne, staying at Camping International Lido, Luzern
Day 3: Drive to Lake Garda, staying at Camping Del Garda, would of stayed at Butterfly, but they have a minium of 7 days out of season.
Days 4,5 & 6: Based at Camping Del Garda
Day 7: Drive back to Lucerne, staying at Camping International Lido, Luzern
Day 8: Drive back to Metz, staying at Camp Municipal Metz-Plage overnight
Day 9: Drive back to Calais and catch the ferry back to Dover and drive back home.
I've used the above stayovers by referring to other peoples posts.
Now, I love Venice, and as it's only a short trip from Garda, was thinking about a day trip. I know they've got the expensie Aree, but parking is expensive at Venice, so not really a bad price, however, should we give up a day on Camping Del Garda and stay or is it easy enough to catch a train into (and back from) Venice for a day trip?
Thanks in advance for any tips/guidance! :thumb:
