5 years, feel free to ask me about the Carado!!
We usually wild camp or use smaller farm sites, to avoid crowds but now in the Scottish school holidays (with some English kids seemingly out of school too!) there is lots of them around and the stomach churning clack of footballs near to the van.

What do you do when a football is being played close to your pride and joy ? :Eeek:

An added factor on Spanish sites is that the football is normally happening after midnight. :) Cricket or golf might worry me but a light plastic football is unlikely to hurt a van. And honestly if they do damage your van ; no court in the land would convict you for removing your belt and thrashing the perpetrators and their parents. :)

Well thank you for the advice Jim. Do you think a more 21st century device might be more appropriate, it makes flies explode into nothing so its gonna hurt ;)

What a bunch of southern softies!!! Simply go around to the parents van and grab the dad by the scruff of the neck and drag him around to your van to show him the error of his kids way. Simply let him know that every time his kids ball comes close to your van he will get a slap and that he better pray they don't actually hit it. :D(y)

Only kidding, I would never condone violence ;):D

Ask to join in, then you can control the area of play, I always try and join in and have a good laugh. We were all boys and girls once, I loved playing sports. Give it a go, it may open your eyes to a enjoyable age to be.

Ask to join in then put a few crunching tackles in to scare them off, sometimes you've got to break bones to get your point over :)

So there is someone else out there who shared my (early teens) interests.(y)
My school visit to the Imperial war museum and their dissasembled IRA IED exhibit proved very useful in improving my detanator setup ;)

Since 1964 Gosh that makes me feel old.
Anyone who plays or watches such a tedious game as football should be shot on sight, mind you at least children have an excuse for crying whilst playing football, the professional players have no such excuse.

The only football in our van is a very light plastic one, for precisely the reason that even though my kids are told to keep well away from motorhomes and caravans, if it does make contact then no damage will be done. In 12 years of camping and motorhoming with them, I can't think of an occasion when it has happened though.

I just ask them to move away from the van a bit.

I had a bit of hassle from one of their Dads once who thought I was a bit of a snob.

But I put him right on that with a quiet word out of the earshot of his kids ( and mine).

I am trying to imagine exactly what damage could be caused by a football to a motorhome... I mean even the windows are plastic.
