The irony of it all is these people who are in such a hurry one minute can then start speeding up, slowing down, coming to a complete halt ... etc etc. When I see someone making crazy manoeuvres now adays I just think "why didn't you get up / leave home 10 minutes earlier rather than driving like a c*** to make up time"!!

Only this week. Im on the ouside lane of the A1 two lane section as im letting traffic on from slip road. As i pass i am now overtaking a line of slower cars, vans, trucks. Behind from the slip road came a large white merc and inches from my hoop. Nowt i could do so he had to just wait till i passed the traffic then off he raced. Then started to get caught where i almost caught up. Away he went and got caught again. Anyway that went on for a while and i never lost sight of him. He left the A1 at my junction and at the end the roundabout was backed up. Me only doing 65-70mph caught up and was behind him at the roundabout. The next section of road was small so i was still behind till the next roundabout. He zoomed round that and again took the same exit as me. Now i am two cars behind him and can see he is hanging from another drivers hoop.
Mile up the road is dual carriage way and off he pops only to get caught up at next small town where i was still two cars behind. I was two cars behind for the next 9 miles as the FUD was going to my home town. Its just not worth the stress when the traffic is busy

As you have the dash cam footage I'd certainly report it to the Police as they'll probably 'visit' the owner and give him a warning as to dangerous driving ... it will also then get on record that this has happened so if he does it again he'll get more than a warning.

You can't "leave earlier" if you wish to arrive before you have left.
