Hi, fitted a Gasit Plus 13kg bottle back in 2020. With lockdown haven't used it since fitting and last weekend was our first long weekend away

When I fitted it I took a photo of the gauge after filling, a bit full but that's where the pump turned off.

Was just away for 4 days, fridge on gas the whole time, cooked dinner in the oven on 2 of the days so couple of hrs usage there, boiled pans and kettle a few times and had the heating on a couple of times to test

After 4 days it still looks the same!

If I rock the bottle the needle moves so doing something.

Previously a 6kg Calor lasted about a week without the heating on which is why I fitted refillable. We did use the cadac then but didn't take it this time. Maybe the cadac guzzled it.

Does that low a drop look right? away again at the weekend, at this rate the gas is going to last us forever

Our gaslow gauges are the bottle neck type, they stay on full until the bottle is about half empty then quickly drop to empty. They usually drop after 7 days so I know the bottle will be empty around the 14 day mark.

You'll get used to how yours work 👍

The gauge markings are a bit optimistic You can expect this type of float gauge to stay at full for an age, then drop to zero pretty quick, with some gas still left. They'll also be very gradient sensitive. They're still useful, but only after you calibrate them (i.e. work out what they read when it is 25% left) and use them as an indication of when you need to refill.

If you need a gauge that reads accurately, get a Mopeka.

So many of us with incorrectly reading gauges.

Thanks for the replies, learning as we go, knew they arent great but was surprised when it hadn't moved at all. After another weekend away it's finally on the move now. First tank should hopefully teach me just how reliable or accurate it is then. We have a calorlite as backup so won't get caught short
