We plan to head down there mid January and wondered if anyone will be around? We aim to take up to three months touring Andalusia Sierra Nevada Portugal and maybe some of Morocco. Any tips?

The Sierra Nevada is stunning. However, if I was you I would do |Morocco first and Spain on the way back, that way you will get better weather. All you need to know about Morocco will be on the Morocco 2020 thread.

This might help with your route.
Safe travels.

Les medes at L'Estartit. Great site 20 euro per night with asci. Showers, toilets spotless. Site spotless, well run, nice little bar, shop on site limited and expensive. Lidl 1.8kms and Surpermarket 2.0kms

In Calpe at present and have been here a month. Weather has been great. Still in shorts and t shirt and have had a few swims in the sea. Heading down to Portugal in New Year??

If you intend crossing the straits of Gibraltar with your Moho, ensure you have a green card from your insurers for Maroc, they are a bit like hens teeth these days.

We are at Alfaix, inland from Mojacar, Almeria - weather has been amazing, but a little cooler today.

We will be back home by mid-January.

Have a great trip! (y)

Jac, I know you have a dog. Has it had the titre test done? You will need it to return from Morocco into Spain. The Spanish border might or might not ask about your dog, but it is required. Regardless of all the Brexit confusing crap, you should have it stamped in the dogs passport if going to Morocco.

The aire at the top of Sierra nevada has been closed to motorhomes for a period recently by means of a height restriction due to misuse. Its meant to be reopening soon (if not already) but everyone has just been parking on the road just before the entrance (nb no camping behaviour).

Sierra Nevada is stunning - but it is a ski resort in the winter so don't expect sunbathing weather.

If it's warm you're after, do the same as us and get as far south as possible. We're heading out tomorrow for Spain and then Morocco at the end of January.

Lots of Funsters in Spain at the moment. Benidorm seems to be particularly popular (with some but not us, sorry).
