not long enough
We have had this or a couple of years and probably should have made more of a fuss when first fitted

Its a Sterling 600W PSW inverter

Fitted vertically behind passenger seat as photo, apologies for state of cables I pulled them out of the way to take photo :whistle2:

Used rarely and mostly on the move to charge anything we might need if not on hook up next night

As soon as turned on it runs quite a loud fan, not the end of the world and in reality a good reminder to turn off again

I really should have fitted it in the outside battery compartment then we wouldn't hear it, especially having paid extra for the remote (cabled) on/off switch

Do you think the fan running is anything to worry about or due to being mounted vertically (as opposed to flat on floor) maybe?

Mine is under a seat, so difficult to hear the fan, but my fan does not come on straight away, I assumed it came on when the inverter reached a particular temperature. When the inverter is switched off the fan does continue for a few minutes.
If there is nothing connected to the inverter, I cannot recall the fan coming on. But its never left on without something connected.

Ours is a Sterling 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter and the cooling fan comes on after a few minutes with a reasonable load on it and runs for a short while after the load is disconnected.

Ours comes on as soon as switched on, even with nothing plugged in at all

It does also run on for a few seconds as well

I should have said that ours is mounted as yours on a vertical surface.
Is it worth a quick call or email to Sterling to put your mind at rest ?
