Caravan before 2000 / Motorhome From 2018 to 22 / Now Caravan again.
Just got off the phone well web chat actually with our car insurance company “Hastings” and asked for a quote as a modification for an A Frame, they was unable to provide cover.

I then asked if we moved as we just moved to the. What are the charges, they said they would wave the £45 cancel fee but would have to pay the full remaining insurance which is £160 plus.

Now anyone knows of any companies that covers A Frames as a modification cos our car is supposed to be done Monday coming.

Regars.

Go on line and look at privilege insurance own website (not a comparison site) and modifications when getting a quote. It is there. I found it by accident when looking for a car quote for the Volvo. They look to be competitive

Insurance found via Adrian Flux including A Frame and third party driving with full comp.

Insure the car with the same company as the motorhome if possible. Or are Hastings just that?

two Separate policies but I might combine them next year.

The logic being in the event of an accident. Say someone shunts the back of the car whilst on tow and then it hits the motorhome. 2 sets of damage 2 policies 3 companies including the perpetrator. All resolvable but so much easier if one blanket policy. Plus insurers like NFU love multiplevehicle policies.

Try LV have insured my Peugeot 107 with them for the last 6 years and have informed them about A frame and they have it noted and no problem with cover. Motor home insured through Safeguard and that is part covered by LV so don’t have a problem. Have been stopped by Police mainly in Greece and they don’t have a problem with all insurance documents. Stopped for a n hour on motorway by mount Olympus and after long debates with head office could not find a problem.

Couldn't try LV they was closed and needed cover for Monday so I went with the closest we’re paying now so not a lot in increase to pay.

Gota cancel our old insurance now.

Have our Hyundai Amica insured with LV they even mirrowed no claims bonus from Quashqai. they also asked if anything was left protruding when driven as a car and I informed them they are always removed.

My current "toad" is likely worth less than the Excess!. Buy em cheap run em into the ground, MOT fail?, scrap and buy another. Having said that, the current one is on it`s 4th MOT, and cost me £500 nearly 5 years ago!. (June). (y)

We’ve got ours with Saga with no problems , told them about the a frame.
